Thank you all! I can't believe that it is over and done with. It was a fantastic party, people showed up from my past to help me celebrate. It was loud and fun, lots of hugging and laughter. We had a full sheet of carrot cake, a 1/2 sheet of chocolate cake. All of the cake went aside from two small pieces (saved for my brother who drove in from Chicago for the event). I have never seen a retirement party (in all of my 45 years there) that was this rowdy and well attended. :-) At least 200 people showed up and many just stayed, standing room only. My boss, Jason, was a great sport & cut the cake & monitored the food. A couple of weeks ago, I started a moleskin journal around my building to have people sign it, share a memory, etc. And the book also made it to the party for those who hadn't had a chance to see it. I will have SO MUCH FUN reading the entries. I read a few this a.m. opening up the stacks of cards and gifts. Yesterday, I tried to greet everyone, and people just kept coming in the door. The party was supposed to start at 3, last until 4:30. It really got going around 2:30 (when people began arriving) and lasted until 6:30ish. I still can't believe that I won't be going in to the office on Tuesday, but I'm sure I'll get used to lounging around. LOL. DH took photos as well as short recordings, my sister-in-law also took photos. Hopefully there will be some layout material. :-) Anyway, this is my update. I am still smiling. Thanks again for the well wishes!
