Happy hour is usually celebrated after work, with buddies. From 5 to 7 ish with a reduced price on food and drinks. It started in the US Navy as far back as 1914. By the end of WW1 "happy hours" was a thing.

I am usually a one drink gal, having discovered that I love gin, I enjoy a glass occasionally, loving the mixers and the fun and making an occasion of a drink with friends or family. My son's girlfriend loves gin as much as I do, and we will sip and savour, unwind and chat together.

Interested minds want to know, how would you spend an hour - what would you fill it with to make it a happy one? Friends, laughter, something to eat, something to drink?

I'd like to be with my daughter @LivyBug and my sister Anna, and my drink of choice would be a Malibu Bay Breeze, which is my favorite drink. The recipe calls for 1 1⁄2 ounces Malibu coconut rum, 2 ounces cranberry juice, and 2 ounces pineapple juice, but I go heavier on the pineapple, lighter on the cranberry, and a wee bit lighter on the rum.

I'd love to just be at my sister's house, listening to good music, and making something yummy to eat. She's the most awesome hostess.

Oh my gosh - my favorite drink is a Malibu Bay Breeze too!!!! I also use Cran/Mango juice too!

My dd, granddaughter and I had a spontaneous happy hour today. We went shopping for a bit, then decided to go for a coffee. We totally forgot that they served alcohol, too. Adrienne and I had a glass of wine instead of coffee. It was a lot of fun and we are going to do it again. Ava had a waffle sandwich (a Monte Cristo) and I had some avocado toast. It was SO good! It was chilly and they had the fireplace going and were playing very "coffee house music".

I'd love to have a happy hour with either my besties from work (we never get to spend time together outside of work) or my kids. I'd love to share an appetizer and depending on my mood, I would choose a Lemon Drop Martini, a Bloody Maria, or an Amaretto Sour. I'm usually a one drink gal as well. It seems like we never get enough time to just unwind and chat.

Oh my goodness. Back in my college days, pre-twenty one I got so sick on gin, lol. I always mixed it with lemonade back in the day.

I would love happy hour with my sister. Appetizers would be nice but it would depend on where we were at I suppose. I also like martinis (really any kind), amaretto sours, other mixed drinks, and frozen ones too. I guess happy hour at a Mexican place would be great because we could have nachos and fruity margaritas!

My friend and I spend a couple of hours together every Saturday morning walking, talking, and playing with photography.

Ohh, all sounds wonderful - thanks so much for sharing.
I have a new drink recipe to try too.

My happy hour would be with my hubby our our best couple friends, playing euchre, eating snacks and enjoying a glass of good red wine. :agree

We have regular happy hours - all different. :giggle They make me happy!

With girlfriends - out & about, appetizers, chatting, hanging out - both in & at local places, good music. Just enjoying time together. Found a new local country bar this week that was amazing!

With friends and hubbies - playing games, eating a lot of snacks, enjoying adult beverages. Usually in, and last longer than a happy hour, lol!

With my parents at the local bar by them - usually a band, lots of chatting, laughing, different range of friends and a later later dinner at home.

My go to is Diet Coke and Captain Morgan. Always. I know my limits and it works best for me, lol! I will drink Vodka as well. Different mixers depending on the season sometimes. There is a wonderful Pinapple Mango or Watermelon Mixer that are fantastic for summer! I don't drink wine or beer.... so.... lol!

Thursday, this week, we are heading to watch Dueling Pianos. So excited for this one! I can't wait to sing, laugh and have some fun! This one is with the ladies!

I am not one to go to "happy hours". It's not really something me or my friends are interested in. I also don't really drink and with my food intolerances it's easier not to do that sort of thing. If I do go out to a bar or even with to a friend's house I usually drink something like a sparkling soda. If I do drink alcohol its a hard cider of some sort but thats super rare

WHY don't we live closer. :giggle

WHY don't we live closer. :giggle

Seriously! lol! I have asked myself this question multiple times! :giggle I see your camping and game night layouts, and I'm saying to myself - I'm in! :P

One day, we can have a game night together!

This also makes me think of the non-alcoholic drinks that I've made. I have a few friends that don't drink as well, or at times, don't want to... so bars around here have Mocktails. Fun, different drinks, but NO alcohol! Perfect for those that don't like them, designated drivers, those that are "cleansing", allergic, or just plain sober happy people. They are fantastic tasting too!

Here's Ginger Orange - so yummy, and Ginger Beer is so mild, it's not like regular beer in taste and no alcohol, so win-win! https://www.southernliving.com/recipes/ginger-orange-mocktail

And this one is nice too. Refreshing! Blueberry Lime. I made this for a party once and brought it. Some added Vodka, DD's drank it plain. Perfect for both! https://thebetteredblondie.com/blueberry-lime-mocktail-paleo-gf/

We also did our own with Frozen berries - pureed, club soda to your taste and thickness, lime juice, and a splash of sprite!

Outdoors with a friend, a coffee and my camera (and my dogs if they are allowed in the area) is my fave way to spend an hour or two. I spend lots of time with family and my hubs but time away with a friend on a walk, especially taking photos along the way, is something I don't get to do often.

I don't drink alcohol, so it would probably an afternoon coffee with a friend and talking about a fave book.
I've also enjoyed sneaking of the house with my older girls and taking them to lunch.
We frequently have game nights with friends too.
