Today is Grouch Day

Are you a grouch? Do you know a grouch? This is the day to celebrate!!
I know a few people who are totally deserving of celebration on this day :giggle
I'm not grouchy very often, but when I am, it's best just to leave me alone lol Usually sleep or a nap will fix it right up!!

What helps you when you get grouchy??

I'm mostly not grouchy but I was having post-flu and Covid shot symptoms yesterday and I was SO grouchy! We went out to dinner and I mostly just tried to keep my mouth shut. :D I usually am grouchy until I go to bed and then wake up in a better mood.

As I've gotten older I've gotten less grouchy because I don't take things as personal as I used to.

But if I am grouchy it is because I'm hurting and not feeling good. For instance, after my heart cath in July, my cousin that took me decided to take a long roundabout way to get home. As we approached the exit to interstate, I yelled at her to get on it (she hates driving on interstate). Thankfully she did. I apologized when we finally got home and I told her I was hurting bad and just wanted to get home, not take the scenic route that would take an additional 10 to 15 minutes (with lots of stop signs along the way).

LOL DH actually got me an Oscar the Grouch toy when we were first dating because I had warned him that I had my grouchy days and it was best to just steer clear! :giggle These days it's pretty rare for me to feel that way. When it does happen it's normally because I'm stressed and tired and just want some quiet introvert time, and life isn't cooperating with that happening.

That’s quite the gutsy gift to give to someone you’re dating lol

I get grouchy when I’m hungry or tired.

I was grouchy Saturday morning because it rained on the plans my friend and I had to hike in a new pretty place. We still walked anyway, downtown, where I've walked a zillion times but still haven't gotten bored by it, and the rain paused while we were walking, so my grumpiness went away.

Ohhhhh trust me I have my moments when I'm Oscar for sure and everyone knows to leave me alone. Normally alone time and a good nap or bubble bath will calm me down..otherwise..ice cream or chocolate may help..when everything use fails just stay the fudge away from me and no one gets hurt...hahaha

I always loved Oscar the Grouch. :giggle Funny that there's a day to celebrate grouches. I'm usually not grouchy, I'm usually a pretty up-beat person... but let's just say once a month I have a day or two where I'm grouchy and it always surprised when I figure out why I'm so grouchy. :giggle Sleep usually fixes it for me. Lol.

I tend to be grouchy when I'm frustrated, or things took a bad left turn.... or I'm hungry. I do mostly focus on the positive. When it happens, I recognize that and at times tell people to warn them, lol! I seek out some sort of way to rectify my grouchiness also.

I totally understand trying to keep your mouth shut. I have to do that when I'm grouchy, too...sometimes it's hard lol

If I'm grouchy..….time, space or sleep usually fixes it.
For sure...time, space, and sleep are the best!

I think your grouchiness was probably justified lol But, yeah, that's probably when I'm most grouchy, too.

What a great gift lol
Yep, I definitely get grouchy when I in need to quiet time to myself and stuff keeps getting in the way!

Being tired is probably the main reason I get grouchy...that and just needing some time to myself.

I'm glad you were still able to get a walk in and that the rain paused for you!

Naps are the best, and yep..ice cream and chocolate help, too!! I totally get those times when it's best to just stay away!!

It happens less often now, but a snack and a nap usually helps.
Like being little again...snacks and naps fix lots of things!

I don't get those monthly grouchies anymore, so I have to have something else to blame it on LOL

I warn people, too! I even give my students fair warning at the beginning of the day if it feels like I might be a tad on the grouchy side lol
