Alex, my granddaughter, is graduating at the end of May and I have been assigned the task of making a slideshow for her party. Since the party is the day before graduation, I will actually make a “Through the Years” type show. I would like to use the scads of 12x12 layouts I have made of her school years. GOT TIPS? Have you made a graduation slide show? What program did you use? I would appreciate any ideas.
@Iowan Carol, many years ago i did a slideshow (with hubby doing the slideshow) Fora gentleman that was retiring from where i worked.. my hubby used Adobe Premiere Elements for it as it allows you to add music to your slideshow too. I wish i knew how but i would think it is similar to doing animation by bringing in the jpegs and then timing how long to remain on each page .. good luck!
You can make a slideshow in Photoshop CC- I bet there's a tutorial somewhere- but basically if you open all the photos (or layouts) in one document, then select "TIMELINE" from the "window" dropdown. Select all your clips, then click create video timeline. Drag the little top bar for how long you want them to show. Hit the scissor icon to clip them. Delete the extra clips (copy of each layer.) Select all again and then click the little film strip and select "new video from clips." Voila- slideshow! To save, you hit the little arrow in the bottom left- Render Video. Pretty sure you can add audio too, I just never have.
I can't believe Alex is graduating... wow, where did the time go? I think you're a windows users, so I did a quick search for you and found a tutorial on how to make a slideshow in windows with music. It also shows how to make a slideshow on canva.com... Hope this helps you. https://windowsreport.com/how-to-create-slideshow-with-music/
It is hard for me to believe it too! How did the years fly by so fast?! Thanks for the wonderfully informative article. I had searched but this is really spot on. I will try the built in photo/slide program in system 11. It looks so straightforward in the article. Thanks bunches ❤️❤️❤️
I think you can make them in Google Slides for free if Photoshop doesn't have an option, or check out Canva maybe?
You are familiar with Photoshop CC, so maybe try Premiere Rush. It's super easy, drag and drop the layouts, then add music. It's way less intimidating than Premiere Elements, and I'm pretty sure is part of the basic CC subscription because I don't pay more for access to it. Here's Adobe's tutorial: https://www.adobe.com/au/creativecloud/photography/hub/guides/how-to-make-photo-slideshow
I don't have much more to add, but I am so glad you posted this because it reminded me that I have to find pictures to turn in the school for DS's graduation
LOL … I haven’t sent in any for Chase, and since they extended the deadline I must not be the only slacker. My issue is that they want one portrait and two landscape photos. Chase hates having his photo taken, I almost always take portrait, so I’m not sure I have two landscape of him alone. I did notice that the photo of a prior senior photo wall had a lot of collages with the senior yearbook portrait and no other photos, just a blue background. So that works for me. And Chase isn’t going to care.
