My friends and I are meeting up to go to a Book Sale, and then out to lunch. A book sale probably sounds boring to most people, especially since it's Scholastic, so mostly kids books! But buying books is always my idea of a good time. Especially if it's in connection with food and friends.

So, what's your idea of a good time?
Have you ever done it?

a good time for me is a day spent with my mum going to charity/thrift/op shops - we have had plans for awhile but with everything happening its been put on hold

I'm an introvert who spends most of her time surrounded by people, so right now my idea of a good time is to go sit at Starbucks or the library alone and scrap.

As a reader and a teacher, I agree with you on book sales being a good time. But I mostly read ebooks and listen to audiobooks these days, so I'm only looking for kids books at book sales. My favorite places to browse for kids books are book sales are at the library and used book stores. I love when I can take home a big bag of books for the cost of 1 or 2 new ones!

Ohhh I just love book sales!! We just had a used book sale at my school and it was amazing! Book fair time at school is so great, too! I could spend hours there! Sounds like an amazing day to me!

I'm kind of feeling like @rach3975. I am surrounded by people and noise all the time, so right now a good time for me would be peace and quiet, maybe one of those books on my deck in the sun. I'm also really wanting to go all by myself shopping for flowers!!

My cousin has signed a contract on a new house (and on the one she is selling) and one of the things she was looking for in the new house was an area where she can have a library/reading room. She is a former English teacher and school librarian and loves (and has) many books. A book sale would be right up her alley!

As for me, a good time is being with a small group of good friends or family. We don't have to even be doing anything special.

Time I get to come in here & catch up without the need to rush off in the middle of reading posts or scrapping a page & when the house is quiet & clean, I consider a good time (well any time I'm here is good but the degree of guilt varies depending on how much stuff I still have on the to-do list!)

Even though I read ebooks 99% of the time, I still love to go to Barnes & Nobles and get a coffee then go browse. I've always loved that they let people sit anywhere, even on the floor, and read. B&N has always been my go-to place when I just need to get away.

That sounds wonderful! I hope your mom's health returns so you can go and do that!

Sigh. We used to have an amazing used book sale in MA. Here? The library sale is iffy. I don't mind older books, but encyclopedias from 1970 are very much out of date in a lot of ways! Most of the books they put in the sale are not worth it.

That sounds fabulous! I saw so many flowers when I was out today. I love to get them from Trader Joe's. They are always fresh and pretty!

That sounds wonderful! I hope you get a gathering soon!

Um, yes. This is a given. I started writing TLP on my to-do list so I have no guilt about being here! Gotta check off the list, right? :agree

B&N has always been my go-to place when I just need to get away.
I used to love to people watch at B&N! I haven't looked to see if there's one anywhere nearby. I usually use the library for the get away purpose. People are expected to be quiet there :giggle

A good time depends on what I'm in the mood for. Sitting in my big comfy chair knitting. Driving my kids and their friends somewhere, eavesdropping on their hilarious conversations. A meal out with friends. Every Saturday morning walk with my friend. Snuggled up talking with my husband. Watching my daughters perform in a play or sing. Etc etc etc :D

I used to love going to book sales too! Half of our book collection is probably used books from book sales! Now a days though, I am really trying to declutter and down size stuff. Plus I have a long list of things to read on my iPad so no need to buy at the moment. But have fun!
