Hubby and I are about to go to the grocery store. We try to not go on the weekend because it’s always so crowded. I told him we needed to pick up some fruits and veggies to snack on. We however do not like the same kinds. Generally he picks out stuff he will eat and I do the same. I love all berries but he only likes strawberries. He also only likes sweet apples, but I like all apples. As far as veggies go, he likes broccoli, celery, and carrots. I like his picks except for celery. That is an abomination to me. I will even pick it out of foods if I see it in there. I also like cauliflower but he hates it. What are your least favorite fruits and veggies? What are your favorites? Is there a divide in your household concerning preferences?

All the divide! I like berries - but not blueberries. Unless they are baked in a muffin. He likes all berries, and loves blueberries! I like bananas, he tolerates them. Then, Munchkin only like strawberries and blueberries baked in things. He'll eat bananas in smoothies, but not plain. And pineapple. He adores pineapple! I eat pineapple, Nick prefers not to. But we adults eat grapes, and Munchkin only does if they are super sweet.

As far as veggies - uncooked I stick to carrots. I don't like broccoli unless it's cooked and covered in teriyaki sauce or cheese. I don't do cauliflower. Period. Celery I don't mind diced in soup, but I won't eat beyond that. I love the little dried celery flakes because it gives that flavor without the weird celery texture. Nick loves all the veggies. Cauliflower, broccoli, radishes, peppers, cooked or raw. I'll eat corn, peas, and carrots cooked/steamed with seasonings. I adore potatoes! He likes them, but not as much as I do. Munchkin will eat potatoes, peas, carrots and corn without complaining. Broccoli he eats while loudly making sure we know he hates it. Unless it has Yum Yum sauce. Then it's okay. But he'll still complain about it. Spinach he likes in a smoothie, but he won't admit that! I like spinach in a smoothie. Nick will eat it in a salad or as a veggie. I love mushrooms (I know, not technically a veggie), Nick likes them, and Munchkin hates them. I make him retry them every few months, otherwise, I let him be picky about them. Avocados are hit and miss. Munchkin loved them as a toddler, and tolerates them now. I don't mind them occasionally, Nick adores them. We all love squash around here - butternut, spaghetti, acorn, pumpkin. And melons. In the summer, we try all the different varieties - watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, Santa Claus, canary, crenshaw. We love melon.

None of us like green beans anymore. We used to eat them, and if we can find them fresh at the Farmer's Market that's okay. But not from the grocery store. Those don't taste good. And we don't like frozen green beans.

And none of us do any canned veggies. Just fresh or frozen. We will do canned fruit, although we prefer fresh. And frozen fruit in our smoothies. And that was way more than anyone needed to know! But maybe it'll become journaling on a page.

I love fruit, but so much of it goes to waste. I prefer bags of frozen fruit. We just got frozen mangoes and pineapple for a change. Those mixed fruit frozen bags are delicious, too. They make a mix that has black cherries in it that I love. Just pour the frozen fruit in a bowl, let it sit or zap it a little and I love it! DH loves bananas and always buys fresh ones. Bananas don't agree with me.

We both pretty much like the same veggies.

Daniel is usually the odd one out when it comes to veggies and fruits. He doesn't care for pineapple, cantaloupe, melon, grapes, but fruit is not his first choice. Olivia loves Granny Smith apples, while Jay and I prefer a Pink Lady or Honey Crisp that still has the crispness of the Granny Smith but with added sweetness.

For veggies, we love roasted broccoli, salads with cucumber, tomatoes, green peppers, carrots. Frozen veggies include lima beans, zipper peas, butter peas, creamed corn or whole kernel corn. Green beans have to come from a can, but then I have a specific way I season and boil them to make them taste like I've cooked them from fresh beans. I can stand the rubber feel of frozen green beans. I prefer fresh green beans, but they aren't always available.

The biggest differences in veggie/fruit tastes in my house are . . .

My husband likes veggies to still have a crunch. I prefer them sautéed and softer than he makes them. I especially dislike celery barely cooked in his stir fries and avoid it. I'm fine with celery in soups and stews though.

My middle child refuses to eat mushrooms.

My husband doesn't really eat any fruit (only sometimes blueberry banana smoothies). I eat 2-4 Clementine oranges everyday and like many other fruits too; rarely does a day go by that I don't eat a few servings of fruit.

Other than that, we are pretty agreeable. We eat a lot of broccoli, onions, bell peppers, squash . . . and rotate through others. Mostly fresh. Sometimes frozen. Rarely canned.

I love ALL the veggies. My fave is roasted broccoli. I love sauteed mushrooms. The only veggie none of us really like are peas.

Like @michelepixels my hubby and I differ in how we like them cooked. I like mine to still have a crispness to them. My hubby prefers soft and mushy (ewe!).

When it comes to fruit my faves are berries. I do not like cantaloupe or honeydew. My kids like pretty much anything.

Most of my family would prefer fruit over veggies but I prefer veggies over fruit.

I like some fruits and some veggies. My oldest likes more than me, and my youngest likes much less. The only fruits all three of us eat are strawberries, bananas, apples, and (green) grapes, and the only veggies all three of us eat are broccoli & corn. The youngest is just picky about all food so he "makes" (heats up various frozen foods) his own dinners.

The biggest problem that we have is produce going bad because the kids are not with me every night and I can't be bothered to make a whole meal just for myself. Only buying frozen veggies halfway solves that problem but frozen fruit just doesn't work for us. Shopping at Aldi means I can't just buy one or two pieces of fruit so sometimes, I eat whatever it is every day for a week and sometimes, I have to throw some fruit out.

We usually have bananas and apples on hand. Rosie loves her bananas with loads of brown speckles whereas hubby and I think they're past their best at that stage. Berries and cherries at the moment.
Veggies are all good, she loves kale, spinach etc in a green sludge smoothie, me not so much. i like it smothered in feta and a sauce.

My hubby grows all sorts , beans( 3 kinds ),peas , onions, potatoes, and pumpkin, sweet potato,Jerusalem artichokes, marrows, aubergine ( not always with success ) cauliflower and cabbage, if the snails don't get them first, and last year for the first time, beetroot. So I have a freezer full of stuff, and only buy celery and carrots, and peppers, much of the time, though I am running out of stuff now.
Fruit both of us like all sorts, and it doesn't get wasted, because I don't buy new, until everything is gone.

I love all vegetables, I don't eat any red meat mainly veg and fish. I will try most vegetables whereas my husband only likes potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and peas. When it comes to fruit we are opposite as well he will eat more fruit than I do. I do like fruit but don't eat a lot of it. I prefer to snack on nuts and seeds than fruit, he calls me a squirrel lol.

I think we all like mostly the same fruits and veggies and they'll all eat whatever I made. My youngest will never finish his veggies though. He eats some, but never all. Lol. My oldest will hoover vacuum whatever fruits and veggies I leave unattended. :giggle If I buy the large container of cherry tomatoes, he will eat them all in one sitting unless I make sure to tell him I bought them for a recipe. Same with pretty much any fruit that is cut up and ready to eat.

Over a year ago I transitioned from low carb/keto to plant based/vegetarian eating, so I eat a lot of veggies/fruit. Staples in my house are mushrooms, tomatoes, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli, peppers, onion, edamame, corn, peas and greens. Fruits I mostly eat are grapes, pineapple, bananas, apples and berries. Hubs is the exact opposite and wants all the meat and cheese he can get. It makes mealtime a bit challenging.

We all pretty much like most fruits and vegetables, biggest differences being I don't like watermelon and zucchini and Chance loves them, and I love all kinds of peppers and he doesn't. DH will whatever I bring home.

We all love most fruit and vegetables. The only thing we all dislike is eggplant. Just no. :backing

I'm 100% the pickier eater out of the two of us here for sure.

I love Pumpkin, Carrots (raw is my preference), broccoli, sweet potato, potatoes, cauliflower. I hate Mushrooms still to this day but have learnt to tolerate peppers/capsicum over the years. For fruit, I love apples, most stone fruit (especially in baking), mandarins, rockmelon/cantelope and most berries with blueberries being my fav. I used to love bananas eaten on their own but since I had stomach surgery nearly 20 years ago they haven't agreed with me as much - I still enjoy them in baking though.

Green beans have to come from a can, but then I have a specific way I season and boil them to make them taste like I've cooked them from fresh beans. I can stand the rubber feel of frozen green beans.

This is me, about the only canned veggie I like are green beans. I like to boil them soft with bacon grease or salt pork and onions. Sometimes I'll toss in a can of white potatoes. I too hate the feel and sound of frozen green beans.
