Have you down sized or upsized recently? I know a few peep's here have.
Do you have 'just a fridge' or does it have bells and whistles?

After about 16-17years of service, our main fridge bit the dust before xmas and has just been replaced and we went from a 'normal' white fridge with one door and the freezer at the top (shown here in xmas attire) to a comparatively massive 2 door stainless steel model with freezer behind the left door and fridge on the right (DH had to cut the skirting board off the wall to fit it into the fridge space in the kitchen and it feels like a game show with door no.1 and door no.2) AND it has a water dispenser thingy that we all think is wonderful (novelty value +++). My kids have hugged this thing and it's so big the secondary fridge looks like it will 'asta la vista baby' soon too - can't live without the chest freezer though, i pre-make a lot of meals and they need to live somewhere!

We got a new one with new house, having a water/ice dispenser is the best thing ever! After 3 years, still love it and if we ever move, priority is to have another plumbed in fridge...

Oh my I love the sound of your new fridge Justine! Hubby and I are in the market for a fridge soon and will probably end up with the 520L Westinghouse with the bottom freezer but sadly no water dispenser or ice thingy BUT it does have a cute wine shelf just for me which will be FABULOUS! Congrats on the new fridge though, I just love getting a new appliance!

When we were in our condo, we had a fridge with the freezer on the bottom. We bought it, and loved it! Then we moved.... and the fridge was asked to stay, though we wanted to bring it with us. The new house has a regular freezer, with the freezer on top. When we expand, I would like a freezer on the bottom, with the fridge up top, with two doors. I need an ice dispenser, and I think water comes with that! :giggle

When all 9 of were in house. I boasted two large fridges, one huge stand up freezer. Pure crazy. We recently got a new fridge, freezer on bottom. So so awesome. We decided against water/ice on front, as we have a water RO dispensing faucet with our sink. The ice maker was a must but in the drawer and handy. I just unplugged our freezer and it is going up for sale. The second fridge we are keeping for sodas and such for our family man cave that is being done this spring.

We are renting so the fridge came with the house. It's a side-by-side with water & ice. It's definitely the nicest fridge we've had in a rental unit before.

I will never NOT appreciate my fridge again, no matter what kind it is, after sharing a house (and fridge) for a few months last year with 3 other adults and 5 kids, though. Trying to fit our family of four's food on two shelves in the fridge and two shelves in the pantry was like playing Tetris every day! :giggle

We have just a fridge/freezer combo and love it.
No bells and whistles, but we have started freezing fruit for DD's smoothies and are all benefitting from the adventure of that.

We've always had the ice and water in the door. Kind of a must-have for us since DH likes his water ice cold. Me, I get it out of the tap. We have a side by side because I don't care what anyone says, the bottom freezers are NOT bigger than a side by side freezer ...

This summer our fridge died a few weeks after our garage door spring broke, and to fix it and replace some shoddy accessories (wheels for the track, etc), we were already out a big chunk of change for the month. I was so freaked out about money (or rather, MORE things breaking), that I insisted on the cheapest-but-still-nice model we could find in stock at a store nearby. Thankfully they were having a sale cuz new models were coming out soon.

DH loooooves ice/water in the door. I hate it because it takes up valuable real estate in the freezer. Plus, on our now-dead fridge, our son liked to just press his hand against the water thing and have water leak on the floor. *sigh* So no fancy water/ice for us until DS is out of that phase! (Yes, I know some have locks... ours didn't work!) Anyway, we have a French door stainless steel Samsung fridge with bottom pull-out freezer. It has an ice maker in the freezer. I hate it. *giggle* (I also don't like ice water, so I have very little use for this big bin of ice that, if you open the door hard, spills onto the floor and no one cleans up.) There are a few features of the fridge/freezer themselves, but it's a very basic model compared to what's out there today. I mean, compared to that fridge that can send you a pic of its inside, our fridge is hardly a step up from the first ice box!

We might be getting a new fridge this year but after a quick research into the cost I'm not in a hurry. Fortunately our is functioning okay despite being over ten years old (it was a hand-me-down so I don't know exactly how old). The problem is the seal isn't working well anymore so we have to be mindful of closing it to make sure that really happens. So often since last autumn I find it ajar.

I'm not sure about water from a fridge. Is it filtered? We drink filtered water from our kitchen sink. If I could have filtered water from the fridge and get rid of the big filter sitting next to my sink I'd like that.

We never use ice so if we can get a fridge without an ice maker to save money that would be awesome.

Our current fridge has a bottom freezer and I have been content with that. I've always had freezer on top or bottom, never a side-by-side, even when I was a kid (as far as I can remember). When I see side-by-sides, they always seem so narrow and cramped.

We have a SubZero side by side. It's huge, but the freezer still feels tiny. Our last place had a SubZero as well, but it had the freezer drawer on the bottom. As much as I didn't like feeling like I was digging through bins of frozen food, I really liked being able to put larger/wider things in the freezer. Now even a frozen pizza has to go in at an angle and that just wastes space. We have an ice maker, but no one ever uses ice except for when my daughter ices an injury. We have a separate water cooler in the kitchen, so no need for the in door dispenser.

We had the skinniest side-by-side subzero for about 10 years. I really hated that thing because we never had enough room, especially if we had extra food for company or a party. We always had to have several big coolers full of food if we threw a party. So when we remodeled our kitchen a couple years ago, we got a much bigger, French door fridge. I absolutely LOVE it. We decided against the front dispenser for the same reason as Anne and I prefer it that way. The freezer drawer is a bit tight so we have been talking about getting a small chest freezer for the garage.

Trying to fit our family of four's food on two shelves in the fridge and two shelves in the pantry was like playing Tetris every day! :giggle
i didnt think that it would be even possible - u're obviously a tetris master

We got a new fridge a few years ago. It's big with the freezer on the bottom, which I love. We had a side-by-side, but I hated the fact that I couldn't put a large frozen pizza in there without putting it at an angle, like Tracie said. No ice and water in the door. We had one in the old fridge and it never really got used, so it was just kind of a waste of space. The only thing I don't like about it, actually hate about it, is that it's a shiny black and it shows ever single little fingerprint UGH. It drives me crazy. There's no handle, it has like a slot on the side of the door to put your hand in to open it, but no one does that, they put hands all over the outside of the door. I feel like I am always wiping fingerprints off that thing!

We had to get a new fridge right before Thanksgiving. Our not-quite-10-year-old GE Profile fridge died.
We ended up with the Kenmore Elite... huge armour style (two doors for the fridge and drawer for freezer on the bottom). We got the most insane deal on it because it had been returned twice. It was delivered once and didn't fit in the home. Then the second time, the delivery was refused because of a couple of small dings at the corners on the doors.

Long story short, I got a $3299 fridge for $329!!

fridge and freezer ge slate. love.

Oh gosh, for the longest time we had the old white fridge that came with the apartment. Then my mom & her partner upgraded to one that sounds like Justine's. They gave us theirs. We never got around to hooking up the water thing. It was bigger, but had less freezer space. Well, that died in September. I called my mom's partner for advice since he is an engineer. He said "Meet me at Best Buy in an hour" & bought us a new fridge. It's the kind with a freezer on top. The fridge is so spacious with pull out shelves to reach things better with my short little t-rex arms. The door has modular shelves that can be moved around. I just love it. Mom & Ed were trying to convince me to get a fancier one, but with two wild ADHD boys, I don't need more things that can break and it was already a $900 gift as it was. I did agree to Stainless Steel because the corners on the white one looked like they'd break easily & Ed insisted on the taller one with two extra cubic feet of space. 8yr old had a request that magnets could be on the front since they didn't stick to our old one. You should have seen us all sticking magnets on things.

swoon @Celeste!!

I just bought a new fridge before thanksgiving. I had a basic side by side that we inherited from my BIL when they moved overseas. Since it's pretty much just my daughter and me at the house with my son home for breaks (and my daughter due to leave next year) I went for a cheap "regular" fridge. I did spend the extra $50 for the ice maker but I lost my water dispenser. My daughter was disappointed however we have a pitcher of water in the fridge so she can still get cold water. I appreciate the width of the freezer. I like to have a few frozen pizzas on hand or be able to buy one of those big Costco pizzas which now fit. I'm hoping that the smaller fridge (I think I went almost 2 cu ft smaller) will save a bit of electricity.

I love the one we have!!! We have a black, french door fridge with the freezer drawer on the bottom! It has lots of room! It has water/ice dispenser on the front which is a must in this house!!!
