Seriously... this has been weighing on me all this year. I'm never behind and always order my last book of the previous year by the end of January. I just couldn't get it done this year, no matter how hard I tried. My format for last year, really bogged me down and I just began to hate working on my pages. But I sucked it up and plowed through the last of my pages over the weekend and today. The last several pages are pretty plain compared to the pages earlier in the book... but I don't care... it's DONE! http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AcuW7li0btWaZ&cid=SFLYOCWIDGET Now... without this project hanging over me, maybe, just maybe, I can get caught back up with 2016!
Wow - so inspiring and so beautiful! Great job on pushing through and making this awesome book of memories!
Thank you so much everyone! It feels so good to have it done. I have never struggled this much with a book before. My motivation was that my in-laws are coming in a couple weeks and the first thing they do is sit down and ask if I have any new books for them to look at. It's strange... they can make me completely insane (especially my FIL who can be completely oblivious to anything outside of himself), but they honestly seem to be the ones that most appreciate my PL books (at least at this time). They both go page by page through the books reading all of the journaling and commenting on photos. Since they don't come here that often, I needed to have a new book for them to look at
75 pages of wow! What was it you didn't like about the format? I love the way the block pages all flow together. That is pretty awesome of the outlaws to enjoy your books so much!
Thanks Anne! Two years ago I started adding a couple extra pages to each week as needed (because I really hate leaving photos out and PL was my only scrapping)... that went well. So last year I decided to embrace the "as many pages as it takes" philosophy. Doing this, I had many weeks in the 10 page range. Which is fine, but I had trouble with the flow. If I had that many photos, it usually meant that we had several events that week and when placing the photos in order, I would have a whole page of an event with one or two random non-related photos (because I have a "need" to place my photos in chronological order). It just felt strange. So, this year, I've gone back to a concise two page weekly spread with all my random photos and a photo to represent an event. Then I've scrapped the event pages separately to be included behind the corresponding week's pages. I'm loving the randomness of my PL pages again and I'm having fun being able to play with themed kits with my events pages!!
Book three has just arrived and I've already found the first typo!! Woo Hooo! I'm going to stop reading journaling for now and just enjoy the pretty pictures.
