We have been going through some tough times lately...

1- Maria hitting Puerto Rico. Most of my family still lives there. A full week without knowing anything about my immediate family had me in tears every night.
2- Someone decided to steal my parents food and broke their water tank.
3- Bianca got a virus, that turned into Bronchitis, that turned into a terrible asthma fiasco!
4- Mother in law just had emergency surgery this morning at a hospital (in Puerto Rico) with no power! (She did good and it's recuperating)

the good news.... we were back to Bianca's first hockey game of the season (3rd for her team) and her team won..... and she scored the winning GOAL! I know it's not much, but goodness we needed ANY good news.... I'll take this little win over nothing!!!!! YAY, for my girl! Her perseverance is just a teachable moment to all of us!

That is great news! Celebrate the little things. Glad to hear your MIL is doing well and praying that PR is able to recover quickly.

I had no idea your family was there. I cannot even imagine what you and they have been going through. We have family in Florida and some were hit bad and some not at all. I'm glad your week ended on a high note.

Oh my! I can't imagine having surgery under those circumstances. Glad you finally had a bit of happiness.

You and your family have been through a lot! The devastation on Puerto Rico is astonishing. I wondered if you had family on PR, so thank you for sharing what's going. I can't believe what your mom and dad have gone through! Why break the water tank?! (Sorry, I was about to start on a tangent/rant.)

I'm so glad that your MIL did well in surgery and I pray she recovers well.

Congrats to Bianca for feeling better and for scoring a goal! She must have been so proud of herself, which of course means you were the proud Mama! :)

What do you mean scoring the winning goal isn't a big deal! That's HUGE!! I bet she's beaming with pride, as she should!!

Glad your MIL's surgery went well...especially without power! I can't even imagine!

I can't believe someone stole your parents food!! That's just low!

Sending you positive wishes and thoughts. What a lot to cope with at the moment. I hope your mother in law recovers quickly.

Great news on Bianca's team and that she is better.

So sorry about your family in PR and glad your MIL is doing well after the emergency surgery. Keeping your family in my prayers. My friend's father is also in PR .. they are getting him out on Wednesday I think. Continued prayers for everyone affected in PR.

I'd already be a mess with one of those things happening...
You and your family will be in my thoughts. Scoring the winning goal is huge, on top of being a much needed "pick me up!.

Great news for your girl!

Great news about your MIL too. I hope things are starting to improve for your family.

The worry about your family must have been terrible Dalis ... holding them all in my heart ... what happened there is so devastating. I can't even imagine what you went through not knowing ... and what you family is enduring over there.

Yay for Bianca. That is awesome ... she's a little light in all this darkness. So glad that seeing her be able to hit the ice again was able to bring you guys a little joy to the end of your week. hugs. :beat

So happy to hear that there are some bright happy spots for you!! I know you have been worried sick about your family and I'm so sorry for what they've had to endure!

YAY for Bianca!! That's so awesome and I know you are both so proud!! Wishing you more and more happy time in the days to come!

Oh my goodness, Dalis, that is awful. I'm so glad to hear that you're starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Hugs!

My heart went out to you and your family when I read this. Hugs and prayers are being sent your way, and yay for your DD!

I can very much relate to cherishing the little things in tough times.
So YAY Bianca! I'll just cheer along with you.
I hope this is the start of things turning around for the better.

I'm so sorry that you've had so much happen to your family recently. I'm so glad that you MIL's surgery went well, especially without power! You must have so much weight on your shoulders worrying about everyone in PR without being able to do anything here. I pray things improve for everyone there very soon and that they get the support and relief they need fast!

How exciting that Bianca is back playing and that she was able to score the winning goal! :)

oh my goodness, so hard to not know how they are. Hoping things get better faster for them. So hard in the aftermath. Wonderful news for your MIL and Bianca! Yay! The little things always mean so much more when hard things are nearby!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear what your family went through Dalis. I had no idea they were in Puerto Rica. It's such a sad situation and then to have people behave so cruelly. But here's to that winning goal! Bianca is a :goldstars

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I hope things get much much better, for all of your family!
