i didn't have a planner.... so I bought one. an 88 cent one from Wal Mart - just to make sure I can actually get used to keeping one, before I go and spend tons. Maybe I can figure out what all I'd need in a planner for it to be effective for me.

Yay, Jen! Glad you found something!! I'm 100% sure that once you have customized it, you'll love it!!

Kristina, I think that's a great place to start! It's hard to know exactly what you need / want in a planner for it to work for you. Hopefully as you use this one, you'll start to develop an idea of what works and what you would change.

My planner is inbound, and is supposed to arrive in the mail today! I'm trying to be productive this morning, so I can play and pretty up my planner when it gets here! For me, I just NEED the features of an electronic calendar right now - there are too many things I use on a daily basis that just can't happen in a paper planner. So, my schedule will be xfr'd into the planner, yes, but more for time blocking. This planner, for me, is more about time mgmt. in the spare time around my appointments. E-calendars are not great for me for time mgmt. - tracking to-do lists, keeping notes and ideas, etc. I'm hoping the 2 worlds will mesh together for one big-picture approach to keeping track. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm old school and use a compact franklin covey binder (with their refills as I need to use the 2 pages per day format and printing all that would just stress me out, lol). I do occasionally add in custom pages & stickers for to do lists, etc. but haven't recently as I haven't found the time lately).

It is the perfect size for me because I carry it everywhere and it has 2 pen holder loops things (yes!!!), plus lots of pockets on the front inside that I fill up. The monthly calendar in this size is really small for a large family, but it works for me as I still have to use google calendar so my kids and husband can see what is going on and when. It just gets really messy. ;)

Hahahahahaha. I was talking to my husband about a planner. He says.... why don't you just use the one you already have, from a million years ago? So I grabbed it off the shelf, because yes, I still have it. Ta da.... compact Franklin Covey planner... "365 weekly/monthly organizer". It comes undated, and flipping through it, I've realized it's my planner from 2008 and 2009 (both years are in here). September of 2009 falls on the same dates as 2015. So ta da.... I can use my old planner, writing over old things (I had stopped using it around July/august) for the rest of this year. So far, google has yielded no refill packs, but another year of this specific planner is $15. Wooooot!
