What is your favorite home cooked meal?
It doesn't have to be cooked by you. It could be cooked by someone else. My son and husband love when I make homemade Mac and cheese. Not my favorite, but definitely theirs!

How about you?

My Mom's Fried Chicken Strips. She has taught me how to make them but they never taste the same. LOL!

And for my family - everyone here loves BLT's.
Oh and anything cooked outside on the grill.

I love it when my mom makes lasagna! It never tastes the same when I make it...of course...everything is better cooked by someone else :D

This is like asking me which child of mine is my favorite. How am I supposed to choose? Huh?

Let's see....
If I'm cooking probably my Green Enchilada Casserole. I don't get to make it much because the kids don't care for it. I'm not sure they are really my children. :p

If the hubby is cooking then definitely his pork ribs. Oh my gosh...sooooo yummy!

If my mom is cooking I'd have to choose her chili beans. I love to pair them with her potato salad. I don't usually mix foods together like that but for some reason those two things just go.

Well that's good, cuz otherwise my answer would have to be ... NOTHING cuz I don't cook. (Ok, that's not totally true: I have a few easy meals in my pocket but I am not the cook and I never pretend otherwise.)
Anyway, to answer the question: my fave childhood dish is my mom's goulash, which is her mom's (or maybe even her grandma's) recipe. It is NOT the actual Hungarian dish, but a pasta casserole. DH makes it but he overcooks the noodles a little bit, so it's not my fave meal by him. But don't tell him lol.
Fave meal made by DH: Hmm. Mac and cheese with homemade breadcrumbs on top, grilled pizza, or this awesome Ramen recipe from an issue of Rachael Ray's mag that you can easily adapt to make it your own. Basically I love anything he makes except bean burgers and Greek Sloppy Joe's (IDK what makes them Greek: he got the recipe in like Saveur or something and the kids and I haaaated them lol).

My husband's favorite meal other than SW meatloaf is pork posole with lots of home roasted New Mexico Big Jim chiles. @AnneofAlamo Sound familiar? We go to NM every other year or so and get a BIG bag of chiles and roast them at home, then freeze. I make a posole dinner for him and male friends about twice a month. Dinner for 6-8 men and I go out or scrap, and then they usually save me a dessert for later. Good male bonding with a variety of men.

What's my favorite meal? Ledo Pizza with mushrooms AND black olives. It's what I'd want as my last meal if jailed or dying. I don't plan to do either any time soon so he gets it for me about every other Friday. :) His half of the large pizza is pepperoni. Ewwww....

oh we do 40-60 pounds of green chile each year!! lol I make rellanos weekly, all winter green chile stew with pork, chicken or whatever I pull out of freezer! lol

@AnneofAlamo I'm moving in with you! I LOVE Mexican-inspired foods! But my hubby is not a fan. He tolerates them occasionally for me, but that's about it. I would LOVE to learn how to make it from scratch! And eat it weekly!

We have lots of favorites - lasagna, homemade chicken fingers, spinach tortellini soup just to give a few. I seriously don't think I could choose just one.

Fettucine Alfredo with grilled chicken and steamed broccoli. It's my favorite that I make and my family's as well.

As far as MY favorite meal . . . my mom's fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and zipper peas and fresh tomatoes.

Mmmm, fresh tomatoes. Definitely a fave.

Oh, Goulash. I haven't made that in awhile. Maybe that will go on the menu next week.

I don't know really. We have so many favorites. But the other night for dinner I made Potstickers (it was my son's birthday and that's what he asked for....potstickers and asian noodles). EVERYONE loved them. It was only the 2nd time I've made them, but I think it's safe to say that they would eat them again in a heartbeat. They were actually rummaging through the fridge today looking for leftovers!

Favorite is too hard to choose. I also do a lot of Mexican and Chinese from scratch. Anything from the grill when it's warm enough, especially a whole grilled salmon or snapper. We aren't grossed out by heads or tails... I also cook a lot of Greek food. My sons still claim Pastitso as their fav, which is kinda like a Mac and cheese on steroids with meat.

I can't pick one. I like food too much! Seriously.

This is me.

I am a good cook if I do say so myself lol and there are so many things that are my favorites depending on the day. I also love my mom's chili and finally got her to give me the recipe, but since I usually wing it when it comes to measuring ingredients and such, mine wasn't exactly like hers (and don't tell her, but I liked mine better :p).

My mommasita is hispanic- so she can make the BEST mexican dishes passed down from her grandma! I love her enchiladas and homemade tortillas! MMmmmm!!! And roasted chiles! and.... lol I could go on & on!
