So I am a series-a-holic. One book just isn't enough for me. I need more of all the characters and plot...etc. I thought it would be fun to start a thread with our fave series! So hit me with your best ones peeps!!

I'll start my faves in the next post :) Just keep adding to your original post with your picks so that it's easier to find them all. :D

Ok well you know the Fever Series (book one- Dark Fever) is a must *giggle* Other faves of mine:

Chaos Walking series:
Book One- The Knife of Never Letting Go
This is AMAZING! I can't recommend this series more. I read them all so fast because I had to know what was going to happen. Seriously I have a hard time putting into words how much I loved this series. WOW was my review for them I think LOL! I loved these so much and was so sad when they were over that if we have another baby girl I desperately want to name her Viola or Hope...or both. LOL!

Kate Daniels Series:
Book one- Magic Bites
The male lead in this series has been compared to Barrons, though there is no comparison IMO. They are good and exciting though if you are into this genre! And Curran is steamy even if he is no Barrons!

Highlander Series:
Book One- Beyond the Highland Mist
If you like steamy romances that are easy reads these are for you. They actually can be read on their own though from book four on there are some overlapping characters. I loved these books though and actually went out and bought some tartan bags after reading them. LOL!

Mortal Instruments:
Book One- City of Bones
If you haven't read these you are missing out IMO! The characters are interesting and the plot is fast paced and easy to read. I will say that I was frustrated with book four, but hopefully book 5 will put me back in love with them cause they are awesome reads!

Hunger Games
Book one- The Hunger Games
LOVE LOVE LOVE! Though most of you have probably read it. If you haven't go read it now!!

*These need no commentary

Twilight:
Book One- Twilight
Harry Potter:
Book One- Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone

Well, I totally loooved the Fever Series too!! They consumed my life for a few weeks, but I think that The Bronze Horseman Trilogy by Paulina Simmons is my all time favorite series. I would give anything if there were more than 3 books in this series. I totally love period pieces, especially WWII period. And I just really loved the main characters. Their story just sucked me right in! The second, and third books are equally wonderful and it couldn't have a more perfect ending!

Great idea! I love a good series too, and it looks like I have read almost all of the ones on your list. I am going to have to check out the two I haven't read yet.

Here are some of my faves to add to the list...

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Book 1
This is a YA series with a totally different spin on Vampires. The characters were great and there was a good mix of romance and action.

Succubus Series by Richelle Mead
Book 1
This was a fun series to read and with supernatural creatures that you don't usually see in this genre. This is not YA and has plenty of steamy scenes without being over the top.

Demonica Series by Larissa Ione
Book 1
Hot alpha males in this series with lots of steam. :giggle The first couple chapters are a little tough to get through, but once the world starts coming to life and the romance develops you will be sucked in.

Outlander Series by Diana Gabaldon
Book 1
Great love story and great character development.

Well, let's see. I am also a huge fan of series of books and for the same reasons, once I invest in the characters I don't want to give them up.

I really loved the twilight series. My first favorite series was the Clan of the Cave Bear (earth children series) by Jean m Auel. The fifth book was really weak and the six book just came out and I bought it but haven't even read it yet. But, even having said that, he first four books were amazing and unlike anything I've ever read.

I also enjoyed the Sookie series because they were entertaining and really fast reads. I read all 11 of them in just over a month. I also really like the bronze horseman series too. I havent read the 3rd one yet though.

Love a lot of these that you mentioned already!

One series I've read that is nothing like any of the ones in this thread already is Lineage of Grace by Francine Rvers. She is a Christian author, and she had made of series of 5 women who are in the Bible and who are in the lineage of Jesus Christ. She has basically taken what is given in the context of Scripture and has filled in the gaps with her own idea of the back story. But they are AMAZINGLY done and very good reads. I found myself much more compelled by these stories than I expected to be. They are stories of women who faced unimaginably adversity and circumstance, and yet persevered and changed the course of their life, and history. Really inspiring reads.

I'm not a huge reader but I love the Twilight Series, I have read them a zillion times and still not sick of them lol
My next to read set would be The Hunger Games, dh has it on his kindle so might need to steal it for a bit

If you like Christian fiction, I recommend any of Liz Curtis Higgs' series. My favorite is the Thorn in My Heart series. It's based on the Biblical story of Jacob/Leah, Rachel, but it's set in the Scottish lowlands in the late 1700's. The books are long, but they're easy to read and she makes you really care about the characters, even with their faults.

I'm with Karen, the Clan of the Cave Bear is such a great book and I feel the same way about the last two. But the first 4 are soooo interesting! I love those books and plan to read them again someday. I haven't gotten through the Hunger Games trilogy but the first book had me hooked. I can't wait to read the rest but need to finish this CAT scan course before I do that. Twilight is also a fav!!!

The Outlander and Fever series are definitely on my list.

The Millenium trilogy by Stieg Larrson(Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, et al)

The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis

The Pillars of the Earth and World without End by Ken Follett - only two book, but at 1000 pages each, I think they qualify. Pillars is one of my fav books EVER.

I'm with Laura. Pillars is one of my most favorite books ever!

Other series I've loved:

Fever Series

Sookie Stackhouse

Hunger Games

No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency

Chronicles of Narnia

Millenium trilogy (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo)

Bronze Horseman Trilogy

Twilight series was ok.

Black Dagger Brotherhood

I'm reading the Demonica series...I didn't really love book one, but got #2 anyway. I just started book 3. Light reading...they're ok.

Clan of the Cave Bear (I read all of them in the series, but only liked book #1)

Harry Potter (loved all of them)

I'll add the Ludlum (mostly all the Bourne books) to my list too. I started those 30 years ago! Faves!

Outlander
Hunger Games
Women's Murder Club (Patterson)
any Ludlum (characters carry over)

not a big fan of
Clan of the Cave Bear

i'm also a series reader

Oh I love series! Some of my faves are:

Harry Potter by JK Rowling
Southern Vampire Series (Sookie Stackhouse books) by Charlaine Harris
A Song of Fire and Ice by George RR Martin (Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, A Dance With Dragons)
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien
Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer
Harper Connelly series by Charlaine Harris (Grave Secret, An Ice Cold Grave, Grave Suprise, Grave Sight)
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket - I know it's for kids but I think it's hilarious.
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
The Millennium trilogy by Stieg Larrson
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan - Another one I know is for kids, but it's really fun and quick. Love the mix of pop culture and Greek myths.
Shopaholic by Sophia Kinsella - Really one of my favorites. Love the quirky British characters.
Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini (Eragon, Eldest, Brisinger, finally reading the last book Inheritance!) These are kind of tough to get into, but then are pretty cool. Dragons, elves, epic battles and stuff! The author was a teen when he wrote the first one.
Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning - thanks ladies for getting me hooked on that one. Mmmm, Barrons.

And here are some started recently::
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness - The first book in what's supposed to be a trilogy. A witch meets a vampire and makes a discovery about their history that has their lives in danger.

The Wolves of Mercy Falls by Maggie Stiefvater
Shiver - Book 1: YA book about a young girl who has an unusual relationship with a wolf

The Magicians by Lev Grossman - I've read this and the 2nd book, The Magician King. It's about a teenager who is accepted to a magical school - nothing like Hogwarts. He and his friends are more hipster, apathetic, drunk types, and they discover the stories they grew up with might not be fiction.

The Carrie Diaries & Summer in the City by Candace Bushnell. If you like Sex and the City, these are really fun books about Carrie Bradshaw as a teenager.

And... because I'm a Star Wars nerd and I especially love Yoda, I picked up a kids book called The Strange Case of Origami Yoda, which I thought was soooo cute and took like an hour to read. And I just saw there's a sequel called Darth Paper Strikes Back! :)

Uglies, the first in a YA series about a futuristic world in which one is made "pretty" through surgery and other operations after reaching 16.

Stephanie Plum Bounty Hunter Series by Janet Evanovich: I read the first book a few years ago and finally picked up the second, third, fourth... I'm up to book 8 in two weeks! These books are hilarious and filled with lots of Jersey references, which I love being a fellow Jersey girl. (I think it's cool that I went to the same college and Girl Scout camp as Stephanie Plum!) Grandma Mazur and some of the other sidekicks are a riot and there are there is a pretty interesting love triangle.

Um, the 3 Lord of the Rings books. But mostly now they're published as one book. But LOVE that story. Very well told in written form.

I'm ashamed to admit I've never read them all. I read The Hobbit...oh, like 35 years ago or so, but that was it. I LOVED the movies and thought they were so well done that I didn't need to read them, but they are something I should attempt someday!

My husband is on book 5 of the Game of Thrones books. He says they're fabulous and that I need to read them, so I'll put them on my Kindle soon (The person helping me at Amazon told me to put our families Kindles under one account so we can share books...he said that we can have 5 - 6 devices on one account!)

i'm reading book 1 of that series right now debra. it's a very good story line, but i feel like i'm plodding through it. i don't know why it's such a slow read for me. but very good, like i said.

Ooh, Jordan... I LOVED this series "The Bronze Horseman Trilogy by Paulina Simmons".
I felt like I learned quite a bit too that I didn't know.

Also I really LOVED the "Fallen" Series (about the fallen angels) It was pretty good.
I can't wait for the 4th book of that to come out now.

Right now I'm hitting the "Twilight" books again, you know... before the movie comes out.
This is STILL my all time favorite books.
