Oh man...it's too hard to pic a favorite! I love all the flowers, I just have a really hard time keeping them alive LOL

Okay...I take it back! Poinsettias are my favorite!

Ok, so I had to come back in here and look at all the pretty flowers again this morning because the ground was white again today! Blurgh! :giggle WHEN is spring going to come!

I totally hear ya on keeping anything green alive Timmi! I kill everything too! @bbymks5

I totally saw a video of a huge field of blue bonnets on Facebook last night and thought you you two @londoncuppa and @cfile

@Christina W Yes! The peonies being long lived is exactly why I love them! My Grandma had them growing around this big giant cement square thing that had the storm cellar underneath it on her farm and they were there every year for as long as I've been alive!

@cinderella I forgot about poppies! I love those too! I have some really cool orange ones that pop up in my front garden and I LOVE looking at them, but I sure wish they'd last longer. Seems like they bloom and are gone in about 2-3 days. And it seems like it always rains and makes the petals fall off faster. Boo! Lol!

Sorry about the pine pollen @BevG We get that coating of yellow pollen around here too, but I didn't know it was from pine trees! That's so weird... I never thought of them having pollen.

@Pachimac I haven't heard of alstromerias, but they are SO cool!

Oh and yes to @jenn mccabe I love calla lillies too! I have some of those in my back yard and I love when they come up each year. They aren't supposed to be a perennial in Michigan, but the ones I planted just keep coming back somehow... I think maybe because they are planted pretty close to the house and are more protected? I don't know, but I like it!

Karen - I saw that same video on FB last night and I thought the same thing re Margaret @londoncuppa !!!
So sorry you ended up with more snow. It is supposed to do that tomorrow here.. I hope it changes it's mind and all we get is rain.. I do not want to deal with it. It is supposed to go down to the 30's after being in the mid to high 70's today.. um can't understand why we are all getting sick! LOL Bring on SPRING already!!

I love peony's but Dutch tulips are my other favorite.. Especially the with or blush pink.
I read your post @cfile about taking a picture in the field, we did 3 years ago and I still love it

Reminds me, we really have to go back soon and take a new one with the 6 of us

this thread makes me happy! i can enjoy looking at the flowers with out the effects of the pollen and hayfever (and a bunch of basically useless antihistamines)!
I have a soft spot for sunflowers, gerberas, tulips and cala lilies; and orchids will forever remind me of my grandmother and her garden, but as for my yard, it's more succulents (yay for year round 'flowers'!) ... and rogue jasmine from over the fence that, although it smells nice, sets me and DS off every time it blooms. In terms of heralding spring, i can't go past cherry blossom trees though (weep, sniffle!)

I love the flowers in this thread! They got snow here in NJ when I was away too, @Karen - it's nuts! No more snow! :giggle

Faves are Calla Lily and Stargazer Lily. :luvya

We're even getting a dusting of snow down here in Virginia as I type this!

When I was young I used to say snapdragons are my favorite flower because they're interactive. I liked to squeeze them and make them talk.

Now wildflowers in general are my favorite, and buttercups specifically. My lawn fills with buttercups every May. Actually the last couple of years they've begun in April. Here's a photo I took at the end of last April while eating my breakfast one morning.

And a close up . . .

I thought I was the only one that loves peonies! My mom had some beautiful ones at her old house, and my first house had some nice ones too. I don't have any at this house; I have knock-out roses instead, and I really love those too. (When I was at the nursery, I was shocked by the peony plant prices and the roses were half off. LOL They're really pretty though, and I don't regret getting them.)

My second favorite are lilacs. I think they are so pretty when blooming and freshly cut, they make the house smell so nice!
