fave Bake Sales buys &/or recipes?

yep, know what you mean! thought and organisation before hand makes all the difference and is generally not appreciated until the milk is spilt and the cutlery and plates tilted and food dropped... and sometimes it's hard not to say 'i told you so'....
 
I'm coming with the Dutch answer: I've never seen a bake sale happen. It's just not a thing here. We have Christmas markets at schools, but that just sells the products the kids made for the market, such as bird feeders. No food. As a teacher, I am not likely to buy and/or eat home made treats from people I don't know well though. I know my students, I know I don't want a homemade cupcake from that student. #youknowtheoneimtalkingabout
But I did got hungry from reading this thread.

ummm like YES! I'm In charge of the funerals at our church and this is what we do..... to me this is a no brainer! I knew you were a smart one and this just proves it! :)
 
:duh I didn't think it was rocket science, but apparently it was that day...I just silently sang in my head "If I only had a brain" but apparently one dad took note of my facial expressions and asked if I was okay LOL

With no children in schools, I have no idea if schools still do this...probably too many allergy issues to make it worthwhile. The only thing we ever buy at an event are the peach pies at a local church Peach festival. Sadly we missed them this year.

It was so VERY hard for me to bite my tongue!! I just couldn't believe the insanity I witnessed that day.

I worked full time until my middle was in kindergarten, which was also the same summer I had our youngest...I never could volunteer for anything due to work and not having a babysitter. I realized within 5 minutes of standing in the hallway twiddling our thumbs vs getting everything ready before the last minute I hadn't really missed much.

Only bake sale we have here in the youth bake sale at church... BUT, the youth all spend the night at the church the night before the sale and do all of the baking themselves, so I'm out of the loop on that one. My son usually makes his "famous" banana bread.

i really like that your 'young' son can be famous for anything baking wise!
