I would have to say Day 24 Pieces of Us even though I had to change my layout. It wasn't a big change, just had to trade spaces with the card and third photo, I liked the look of the original better even though it was a minor change,
This past week was a big catching-up week for me so I have lots of layouts to choose between. I have it narrowed down to three favorites but I'll share just two here.
I'm really in love with my art doll page for a bunch of reasons. I've always been curious about art dolls, and I've always liked the look of big headdresses/trees/etc made with a huge pile of buttons or flowers, and this was my first time creating either of those. I love how the layered paper skirt came out as well. I also love that I scrapped something that's been on my mind a lot lately but I wouldn't have thought to scrap, or known how to scrap it, which is how hard it is for me sometimes to figure out being a "proper" girl, with the makeup and the hair and all that. I love how this came out, with the doll looking dubious, and weighed down by this huge mass of flowers pressing on her.
I'm super happy with my scraplift page as well. Marnel's original layout caught my eye as soon as she posted it in the gallery, weeks before the scraplift challenge. I never would have thought I could make a page like that (and I wouldn't if the idea was coming from my own brain), so having the motivation to try it and managing to pull it off made me really happy. I also just love this picture of my mom, it makes me smile every time I see it.
My other favorite is the page I just made last night for the heritage scrap challenge. I chose a favorite photo of my grandparents and told a story I didn't think I had it in me to put down on paper.
This week was where I think my best came out. I have more than one fave.
My best fave was this one, using Jenn's amazing technique. I'll tell you one thing, I'll be using that in future pages!
The second fave would be the Art Doll challenge. I've never, ever done anything like that before, and I had fun. Maybe a bit too much fun! I just kept on putting things on the page where there was white space until I ran out of white space. Ha! I had a blast doing this.
Mine is my scraplift of Ellen. It was so hard to choose which Polly to lift because every single one of them is so talented, but Ellen likes to use a lot of stuff on her pages, so...yay!
Mine was the Art Doll challenge. I loved making paper dolls when I was younger (homemade were the best). This one was fun! I had to practice shadows in their own layer (sorta new to me), her bun is actually one of the dress pieces, her neck is part of an arm, and her shoes are one of the dress forms cut up with parts erased! I had so much fun "dressing her up"!
My favorite this week was the art doll. In putting it together, it released some tension that was haunting me of some bad behavior on my part. I feel renewed.
This one definitely pushed me and I thought it would be a total waste of my time bc I would never use it but, I think I like it enough to use it as the album cover for our Vegas trip.
But this one ranks as one of my faves!
From the 4th week, this was my favorite LO. It represents what I consider my characteristic style...a rather linear flow, inky marks and few paint splatters, a few elements (flowers are my favorite), and a single people-less photo that I took (I love nature photography). Hahaha, I'd say my pages are both "dirty" with the look of hand drawn lines, stamps and paints, and "clean" because I don't like to fill up my pages.
