So for those of us in the northern hemisphere, Fall/Autumn is just around the corner. And for those in the southern hemisphere... it is a little farther away, but I'm sure many of you have favorite things and maybe even Fall bucket lists. Don't you? I know there are people who are crazy for pumpkin spice lattes or hot apple cider, football, school carnivals, cozy sweaters, leaves turning colors and crisp evenings... etc.

Do you have favorite things to do in the Fall or favorite rituals or must-dos?

I like to sit with the windows open and let the crisp cool air in while burning a pumpkin or autumn fall candle... sipping a nice cup of Java!! :) Love the early fall mornings!... another fall ritual I love is leaf peeping.. going to see the leaves turn.. sometimes up at the winery ;)

I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks yesterday :) I love open windows during the day and watching the leaves change colors (just don't get me started on how I feel when they fall LOL). Football, football, and more football!! Making homemade apple butter. When I was little we used to do it in a huge pot over a fire outside. I may have to bring back that tradition. Hot apple cider is great, too!

I just love decorating for autumn. Making a new wreath, putting up new printables. I like the fact that I can use blankets on the couch again and wearing onesies. Changing my duvet (I have a 3+1 combo where 1 is for summer, 3 is for fall and 4 is for winter) and bedding into darker colours. Buying a new jacket (I don't do that every year but last weekend I did and I love it so much but now I have to wait to be able to wear it.. ugh) and new scarfs/hats/etc. I also like to go on photographing walks. I just very much love the colder seasons, can you tell!?

Open windows, the smell of the air, no humidity and I wear my hair down, lol.

Usually it would be the start of hockey season but I won't be sitting in arenas every weekend this year, a weird feeling.

MY perception of seasons has changed so much over the year.... I couldn't for anything in the world live in other season than summer...these days I love autumn.

For us it means a bit calmer, not so many people around, (I have changed a lot that way too, I used to LOVE crowds of people)
I am still ti try the Pumpkin coffees, but pumpkin is one of the things that I most LOVE of autumn.

I even made a LO about it, the fact that in England (well, at least in London!!!!!!!) you only get pumpkin for Halloween!!!!!!!

in South America we cook with pumpkin both savory and sweet dishes, here you get squash all year which is this kind

but not the full pumpkin which tastes a bit different.....

if you make a google search for "doce de abobora com coco" (pumpkin & coconut jam) you get this (I had to close it quick because I m starving and no pumpkin in the house LOL)

I hear you Cynthia. I only ever carve pumpkins. Never eat them :huh But I am going to take a peek at those recipes out of interest.

Autumn for me means crunchy leaves in beautiful colours and crispy cold, sunny days. Of course the reality is often, rain, wind or fog and soggy leaves clogging up the drains :rofl

Halloween used to be fun when the children were small. Although I still look forward to the local kids coming round for trick or treat. I always have a huge bucket of sweets by the door and dress up the porch, then spend all night listening for the doorbell:)

Apple-picking is a huge thing for us so I am so sad that all the orchards close by have no u-pick this year. There was a late/May frost that wiped out most or all of the apples. :thumbsdowns

The closest u-pick orchard is 4 hours ONE WAY from here. Even I can't justify spending 8 hours in the car with the littles to pick a couple of bags of apples.

We will just have to make up for it with lots & lots of fun fall leaf photos!

The seasonal trip to Trader Joe's to buy one of everything "pumpkin" in the store.

Oktoberfest at Clara's school.

Carving pumpkins and roasting s'mores in our outdoor fireplace.

And it's our last year of the traditional Columbus Day outing to the dunes, and apple picking with friends from Clara's school. They'll all be off to different high schools next year.

We go pumpkin picking, carve the pumpkins, hay ride, and corn maze. We also make ghosts out of milk containers, too. We like to get piles high leaves... and have the boys jump in them. Usually I have some great photos from these activities! :)

Someday I want to go to a place and see all the leaves changing colors. Where I live in South Texas Fall is kind of just a concept. We have hay rides and pumpkin patches and bob for apples - we just do it in short sleeves! LOL

that is kind of us in Brazil, well in the north east where we lived last, and in Rio where I lived a long time..... seasons are all hot, not much of an autumn, some leaves do change color and fall....and we do have seasonal fruits & veggies but dont have autumn stuff themed kind of thing.....I love seeing the leaves change here :)

I love what I affectionately refer to as "Southern dusting". We open up the windows and let the house breathe a little bit differently then in the Spring. It just feels different to me, I am not sure why.

AND Camping! We have several lakes in the north end of where we live here along the coast, and they are beautiful. I need that first 10 day trip to re-boot in so many ways, hahaha! Staycations are wonderful ♥
