My friend rarely wears eye makeup but after a trip to CA to visit a friend, she came back looking very good for another 70s woman. She said she really liked the crayon and her friend showed her how to use it but then...what do you do after the tip is worn down? This is a Rimmel one and while I haven't used a crayon like this for years, i do remember that I had no idea how to twist it or in any way get to more of the crayon. Janie did what I had done in the past and tried to cut the plastic off! not good.

We two old chicks are really stumped! Help! (yes, I'd almost be embarrassed to go to Ulta or Sephora and ask...) :blush

I am not good with makeup! And can't remember the last time I even wore eyeliner. I think I had a lip pencil like that years ago ... and couldn't figure out how to get it sharpened either so I threw it out! :giggle

I have an eyeliner pencil that appears to be plastic... tried forever to figure out how to twist it up. Found that it was made from a soft plastic that was meant to be sharpened. Not sure on this one, but it might be worth a try?

Tracie, ask your daughter for me! But next time I visit Janie I'll take my dual sized sharpener!

Close Jenn, but these are not twistable and are crayons, about as thick as a middle finger. Sometimes y'all are faster and better than Google but I thank you for the suggestion!

and just FYI this is what I got on Google. LOL..you made the top suggestion!

Best answers seem to be use the big hole of a sharpener after freezing the crayon or....use a knife. Really best answer, is don't buy Rimmel. (!!!)Good price but not for a week of use!

Here's a video I found... entirely too long for what you need to know... but easy to skip around...

I was going to suggest the dual sharpener, but the suggestions above look better!

I see what you mean ... that crayon is thick and very different from just the thin mechanical, twisty ones. Did Tracie's vid help you out?

These products really should come with some basic instructions! :hehe

That woman in Tracie's video showed her crayon getting peeled but it wasn't clear if it was a hard plastic. It was funny that she was so unprepared for videoing...and 9 minutes! LOL but thank you @tkradtke I also loved the comments the woman got. She tried!

Avon has a sharperner for it... same as I am sure walmart or the dollar tree may also have one. it is like a pencil sharpener. when they get real low though it is hard to sharpen and you need to toss it.

With all this advice I suspect I should start wearing eyeliner! though I was thinking about tattoo-ing them.

Hahaha I have to:giggle at this. I do not see myself as a beauty person but maybe I am more the I thought since this is total logic for me.
Yes you can sharpen that eyeliner pencil with an makeup sharpener!! Easy peasy!

Too funny! :-) They sell sharpeners for makeup also. I have one just like the one shared by @cfile . They inexpensive and a must have.!
