Hello scrappy friends!

My name is Catherine. I put this re-intro off until now because I don't like talking about myself, haha. A few of the basics... I live in Northern California but was born and raised near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I'm mom to the cutest 2-year-old little boy. I've been digiscrapping for about 11 years now, mostly as a creative outlet.

I've been wanting to get into creating hybrid projects like greeting cards, planner stickers, and journal pages. My biggest hurdle is choosing a printer and making space on my desk for it and other supplies. I've been so inspired by what the ladies are doing here: https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/january-hybrid-projects.95568/

I'm currently watching the TV show Supernatural for the first time. It's 15 seasons long and I started in October, I just started the final season this week and I don't know what I'm going to do when it's over. Maybe watch it again?

I'm dying to read Onyx Storm but am putting it off a bit because I know it will consume every second of my free time (and not so free time, lol) and I have things I need to get done. I haven't even purchased it yet because I know I won't be able to resist once it's in my hands.

Hi Catherine. So nice to learn about you.

Hybrid is how I got into digi scrapping. I don't have a printer now though, like you, I have been looking and not been able to decide upon one (I mainly want one to scan in photographs and my older paper scrapbooking layouts though).

I used to watch Supernatural - started out as something to watch with my son at the beginning, but I don't think I've kept up since around season 9 or 10. It is on my watchlist for another go around though.

Hi Catherine, nice to get to know you better! I hope you get into hybrid, I would love to see what you create!

Glad you took the time to say hello. I watched Supernatural too. I miss those brothers. But Jensen Ackles has been in a few other series in the recent years so I ahm happy when I see him again ;)

I hope you find a nice printer. I'm sure you'd make great things with it. You should ask in the Hybrid forum for advice.

Have fun!

Hi Catherine,
Glad to hear more about you. In 2015, when my oldest was 14, they were obsessed with Supernatural and talked me into watching. I also became obsessed, only for them to lose interest and scoff at it a couple years later. I think you can find a couple of SPN-related layouts in the earliest pages of my gallery. I finished watching all the way through the final episode, just to be complete, and I loved watching the SPN conventions on YouTube around 2016 and 2017, but then I completely lost interest. Although I continued to follow Misha Collins and participated in a couple of his scavenger hunts.

Catherine,

I'm so glad you hopped by to share the basics with us. It's so fun getting to know you better.

I hope you can get into hybrid more. I have an Epson ecotank ET-3850 printer that I print some hybrid stuff with, but before that I just sent or took my files on a USB drive over to the local copy store or Staples and had color prints made on cardstock.

I bet some of the pollys who do hybrid could recommend a printer and what kind of paper they use. I know there was a thread once about that. Let's tag some of them and see if they can help a girl out. :agree

Yes! Watch it again!! LOL Also, prepare yourself for that final episode :cry I think I have watched it all the way through 3 times now. I watched it a couple and then I talked my youngest in to watching with me. We watched one episode every evening and, with a few interruptions, it took us right at a year to finish it. I love it so much!

Good luck finding a printer! I'd love to see your hybrid creations if you go that route! Our hybrid gallery is so amazing and so inspiring!!

Hi Catherine. Have fun with hybrid. I started with traditional/hybrid scrapping for many years until I got into digi full time and then got rid of all my supplies. You'll find lots of inspiration here for sure. I watched some but not the last 3-4 seasons of Supernatural. I stopped watching but not because I didn't enjoy it, life just got too busy. I had to look up the book you mentioned and #1 in the series is on hold at our digi library, so I will also look forward to getting #2 and #3 with 2 more it sounds like in the future.

Hi Catherine! It's great to learn more about you! :) I'm in awe of the beautiful hybrid projects. I don't think I'll ever be good at them as I usually get glue everywhere, lol.

Hi Catherine. We LOVE having more people join us for hybrid projects! I have an Epson Ecotank - the 3750 I think. I like the tank printers because the ink tanks last forever so there’s no printer cartridges to replace. Thanks for telling us more about you!

Hi Catherine, thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself.
That's a new to me show and sounds like it's worth investigating.

Well hello there and nice to officially meet you Catherine!

I put my hold request for Onyx Storm at the library and I'm like number 198 on ONE COPY! :giggle I think I'll have to be purchasing that one myself, but I just started another 1000 page book and I'm only 2% into that one, so it'll be a minute.

As for printers and papers for hybrid, here are a couple great threads that talk about those things...

There's a little fun reading for ya! :agree

Love seeing you around here Catherine and I too hope you join the hybrid world. Definitely check out the links that @Karen provided. I tend to stay tuned for Costco, Amazon deals. If you have any military connections sometimes there are great deals as well through the military side of things.

Nice to learn more about you, Catherine! My DH watched Supernatural, so I saw bits and pieces here and there, but I'm scared to start it myself because when I start watching something I tend to get sucked in and binge way too many hours a day. That's too many seasons for me! :giggle

HI Catherine!! Nice to learn more about you! I also would love to do some hybrid, but yes, need the space!
