The first full week of school after summer holidays hits pretty hard and we were talking 'dream vacations' last night.
DD just doesn't like planes and journeys really so she said 'anywhere a car ride away but not more than a few hours', DS isn't so much interested in going places, he just wants to go to a hotel with a huge (read: expensive) buffet like we had at one point before when we were too jetlagged to explore eateries in surrounding streets; and Japan and Tokyo Disney especially is top of my 'Dreams are Free' holiday list.

Where would you go? Dreams are free so feel free to dream big!

I would go to South Dakota to see

then to Niagara Falls and go in this boat!

and then I would go to my parents house and give them both a hug. ♥

Since it's just a dream . . . I'd take a whole year to tour the whole world. :D I want to see everywhere. Almost. I'll skip places with big spiders. I read they're as big as dinner plates in the Amazon jungle. Too bad, because it would be neat to experience the jungle, just for a little while.

@AnneofAlamo I like how you ended with visiting your parents for a hug. Usually when answering this type of question, I say I'd go to San Diego and visit my family too. Of course, that would be part of this dream year long world vacation of mine too. :)

Well, the list is long...

Australia and New Zealand have been on my radar for 30 years.
Visit all 50 states which would include the road trip dream... I want to drive the 48 states on the mainland of the USA.
Hawaii would be a nice vacation some cold, harsh winter.
An Alaskan cruise will take care of that state and it is on the schedule for 2019 along with...
a trip on the Rocky Mountaineer through the Canadian Rockies.

On my road trip, I've got many scrapping friends that I can visit in my travels. One of them lives in the shadow of the photo @AnneofAlamo posted with those huge faces. I've got an open invitation to her place.

There are a couple places that I have been that I would like to re-visit... Vegas (last there in 1980) and NYC to see the 911 Memorial.

On the road trip, I'd like part of it to be on the old Route 66 :)

I don't like to fly and despite that, we've been to a lot of places, including Europe. I've been on a plane for 7 hours and decided that was my limit. We were in Business Class then, so it was pretty nice. DH knows the only way he'd get me very far is if we flew Business or First Class and the prices are TOO high now. That being said, in my next life, I'm going to see The Great Wall of China. (I'll love to fly then.) :ballonhang:winner

Ohhh ... I want to see Taiwan, Japan, China, Vietnam ... and I want to see New Zealand and Australia. But they are so far ... I don't know how I'd make it on a plane ride that long! I barely survived the trip across the pond to Ireland.

I second the world - by plane, train, auto, cruise. Man, that would be so cool!

Ireland, Japan, Australia, New Zeland, Bali, France, Hawaii, so many places! Even Antarctica, for a day or two, as long as I'm warm. I'm willing to try anything, go anywhere for a day or two!

Ireland
Prince Edward Island
Disney World
Disneyland
Hawaii
Alaska
basically all of western Europe
India
Japan
Australia & New Zealand
Antarctica
Hong Kong

Going back to the UK - London and Scotland and then visiting *Southern Ireland
Going back to Germany
*Going to Australia
*Going to South Dakota with Anne to see Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse
Go back to Vegas again

(starred places are where I haven't been yet)

I love vacations and traveling!

I would love to go so many places! New Zealand, Ireland, Italy, Paris and Hawaii top the list for long plane ride type places. I've also always wanted to drive the whole Route 66 with no agenda and stop wherever we wanted to. And if we are dreaming, I want a private plane and a car and driver for the whole trip... okay? Thanks!
