Do You Make Scrap Goals?

I made myself a scrap goal for this year, and so far, I think I'm doing so so on it. I wanted to make my layouts more color filled and use more color in my background papers. I usually grab neutral beige, white, ecru, etc... backgrounds and they're pretty much always plain with texture. I have a really hard time using patterned backgrounds, so that was another goal. I'm doing abysmal with that one!

I also wanted to get better at blending, and I'm pretty happy with a few of my blended layouts so far!

I just took a look at the past two months, and I see progress and more color. Yay me!

What goals did you make, and how are you doing with them?

I think it's great that you made these goals and that you are seeing yourself master new techniques and bringing more color and pattern into your creations!

My goal this year is to scrap daily and to scrap more prolifically like when I was really obsessed with digi scrapping in the early 2010's. So far, I haven't managed to scrap EVERY day, but I've made 48 layouts, so I feel proud about that. I have lots of other goals about designing that are helping me reach my daily scrapping goal. I'm REALLY happy about those changes.

I usually make a goal for how many layouts I do which includes digital and traditional. Even with not scrapping for a month I'm on track to make my yearly goal.

Other than that, no real goals but I do plan ahead on some of my projects so I know where I stand with the project.

I have a templates folder on my computer. It is FILLED. I'd love to scrap with them all & get that sucker cleared out. Or at least to where even when I add templates the folder is still getting smaller because I'm using them.

So far this year I'm being successful!

Goal 1 - Finish MOC 10 - DONE
Goal 2 - Complete all the 8 February Challenges - DONE
Goal 3 - Complete at least 90% of Love Our Designers Pages - working on it
Goal 4 - Complete all the 8 March Challenges (and so on for each month)

My main goal is set aside scrapping time and finish some projects! AND get them printed!

Wow! Good job.

1. I have my normal weekly goal to scrap a double-page layout every week of just our everyday life. So far I'm on track for that.
2. I have a goal to finish MOC challenges (even though not on time!) On day 26 so I should finish soon.

Other than that I don't have any goals. I'm sure once I get through MOC I'll set another goal.

@Pachimac - I should set a goal to stretch myself like you are. Need to think about it and see what I might want to try.

I haven't thought to make any goals.
Great question.
Maybe I should say something like play with scrapbooking supplies or shop 5/7 days. I am on track with that!
Nothing like deciding what you've done and then making your to do list match.

Scrap more consistently, did well in January, February was a write off due to computer issues but now I’m almost back to being able to scrap again.

I love that you are trying to bring more colour & patterns to your albums! Patterns & colour are my jam!
No scrap goals for me at this stage - only a rather loose one to try more mixed media style pages. I used to aim for about 15-20 pages a month as a goal but I have no idea if I'm even close to that yet or for last year ( I used to use Pinterest to keep track of annual page counts but it didn't like me for a decent chunk of last year & I couldn't pin & now I can't remember if I ended up catching up pinning everything when I was able to use it again). Life has gotten in the way of MOC & LOD this year & I'm trying to just roll with it. (The bright side of lockdowns in the last 2 years was more scrap time ).

I can't even fathom scrapping as many pages as you do! You are so quick about it. Sometimes pages take me HOURS. I think maybe I need to focus on getting faster! LOL

I am in awe of those who can hybrid and paper scrap. I can't do it to save my life. They look like a kindergartner did them!

Now Templates I can do faster!!! I love templates for my Project 52!

"AND get them printed!"

That's my problem. So few of mine are printed. I would need to knock off a bank to print all my pages I want since 2009!!!

I realized that if I don't set goals about my scrapping, it goes by the wayside. Now that I'm not on any creative teams for the moment, there isn't an impetus to "get 'er done!!!".

Ha ha ha!!! I like you - you're funny!!!!!

I love that you are trying to bring more colour & patterns to your albums! Patterns & colour are my jam!

Any hints for me? I feel like when I use patterns, the elements get lost and especially the text stamps I so love to do!

Me too!!!! I'm stumped on Week 1 of the Muse this month!

I agree. HOWEVER, lockdown meant not going anywhere, so I have precious few photos. I hate bull crapping my pages, but I have some memes and interesting photos in my Pro 52 this year!

Now Templates I can do faster!!! I love templates for my Project 52!
I’ve been really good this past month where if I grab a template set I IMMEDIATELY use more than one template in the set so they aren’t sitting neglected in my folders if I love the design. Some template sets this year I’ve used all 4 right away & was THRILLED with that mini challenge.

I guess in scrapping I view things more as mini challenges vs goals because I’m a fly by the seat of my pants scrapper.
