Did you stay up late? | pad patter 1.1.18

My girls each had a couple of friends over. I watched Call The Midwife, taking a break to countdown to the new year with everyone, cheering with our traditional sparkling cider. I finally went to bed after 2 a.m. while the kids were still watching movies. It was fun, and different, the first time having friends over instead of just being a family event.
 
I'm the only early bird in a family of night owls, and everybody (except for me) had been staying up late all through Christmas break. We had tossed around some ideas for New Year's Eve (such as going to the zoo for the Wonderland of Lights finale) but in the end, I decided I didn't want to go outside when it was so cold!

My daughter and I watched the last three Dancing With the Stars episodes that have been waiting for us on the TiVo and that took us to just about 11:45! We rounded up the rest of the family -- who had been doing their own things, not hanging out with us -- watched the ball drop, and then I went to bed. LOL
 
When I read this, I automatically assumed: Of course I stayed up to see the first MOC challenge!

I stayed up. We tricked my kid at 9pm with the ball drop in NYC so he went to bed at 9:15pm. Dh had to work early on the 1st, so he went to bed. I watched the Vegas celebration by myself. It's a habit. I just can't go to bed before Midnight New Years Eve!
