December Daily?

Shimelle does a cool class every year called "Journal Your Christmas" that is focused on journaling Christmas memories from your childhood combined with the "every day" December things. It's a lot about journalling about what Christmas means to you with some great prompts. And Shimelle always does an album with it too... have you thought about doing something like that?

Personally, I always START these albums, get the base done... and then never even start on December 1st! This year, I'm vowing to actually put something IN the albums.

I'm just not that interested in making a Christmas or December album. It would be a couple of pages and that's it. Our lack of all-month celebrating and my work schedule really just doesn't lend itself to a December Daily type of album.

There's no rule that says you have to do a December Daily! :) You should do the Thankful November if that sounds better to you! :)

Everyones albums are gorgeous!! I am going to try this year....I still need to finish our Elf pictures.......maybe I should get those done before I try and tackle something else. I am so good about scrapping the every day photos and totally stink at scrapping the "special days".

you cinch coveters...did you see this on christine's blog today...
wondering how it compares cost wise!

I saw the cinch at hobby lobby this past weekend for $109 but with the 40% coupon (i think it qualifies for the discount) it would be quite a bit cheaper...still more expensive than the disc binder punch, but I would expect that the coil binding would hold up better than the disk binding for long term projects (just a guess though). I wonder if Staples ever puts these on sale...I've looked at them when I've been in the store but I've never been convinced to but it.

The disc punch at Staples is $40, but they do have sales/coupons sometimes for the Arc system.
Also, the 1" discs are $1.99 for 12. The 1.5" discs are $2.99 for 12. For mini-albums you don't need 12 of them, just maybe 7-8, depending on the size of your album.

The rollabind discs also work with the Staples Arc system and they come in many different colors and sizes.

HTH!

Also, the system is designed for planners, but many people have made notebooks and mini-albums with them. The hold together rather well. I don't expect any pages falling out of them. I will have a another blog post up tomorrow on my blog showing my 30 Days of Lists album made with this disc binding system.

I really like the idea of a Thankful November album. I want to do a December Daily, and I think about it every year, but I always feel so overwhelmed at the thought of feeling like I need to have an awesome and fun-filled December. Then last year we moved and traveled across the country in the middle of December and to do an album during that was out of the question. I may consider it this year. I think the key to anything like this (be it December Daily, Thankful November or Awesome August) is advance planning. Otherwise you're trying to do way too much at once and are bound to get burnt out.

(be it December Daily, Thankful November or Awesome August) is advance planning.

Ohhh! I love the idea of the Awesome August! I always have some sort of brain block on December photos. Possibly because I don't have kids and it always seems like I have to convince my husband to just put up the tree! For some reason though he thinks he's Clark Griswold with the lights. ugh. I always work on a project for Christmas gifts too so it doesn't leave me much time for anything extra. Anyway, I love the idea of "Awesome August".

I've done a Thankful project for the past three Novembers. I would link you up but it is still only halfway done. Each year me, my hubby, and kids write something we are thankful for after dinner. We write them on small slips of paper and I insert them in pockets I've made with each date. I add the date, because each year we add more to the pockets. This is one of my favorite projects because it reminds me to slow down and be grateful AND it gets us ready for the Christmas season. I want my kids grateful for Christmas and it's meanings, and not just getting the gimme's. I can't wait to see what you come up with Christine!
