Is anyone here planning on doing the December Daily with Ali Edwards this year? I am strongly considering doing it digitally, and spending iDSD creating the templates for the photobook. I love Ali's paper album, but I know my limits, and there is no way that thing is getting done in paper form.

Let me know if you are considering this project this year, and maybe we can have a support group. :giggle

Hey, Amy! I am moving this thread over to the Scrap Pad. (Announcement Pad is for site related news.) :)

OK, now for my actual post. LOL I am totally IN LOVE with that Studio Calico/Ali kit. It rings all my bells. Trying to decide if I am going to fork out the $80 though! I have done the December Daily before in both paper and digital format. Let's do a support group!! That always keeps me motivated. For digi peeps, we have tons of product suitable for it.

Crap! Sorry- I didn't even realize what section I posted this in. :-)

And yeah- I was considering buying the Studio Calico Kit for the album, and then printing out my digital layouts and putting them in the 6x8 page protectors. And then I realized the kit was $80, and that's just too steep for my blood, considering I only plan on using a quarter of the kit.

Yay for support groups! Now I'm committed to this. ;-)

Could someone link me to the Studio Calico kit? $80 is a little steep but I think I spent about that in supplies for my DD last year and never finished my album :( I would love to do a mix of digi and paper this year...digi is just sooo much easier for me! Add me to the support group!!!!

I think the support group would be awesome. Every year I start the December Daily, and I get half way and then i dont finish it for a long time. I would love to do this in digi :)

..the kit is so cool!! but i cant spent $80 on it at all. Thats way out of my budget too.

I thought about it, but I probably won't be doing it this year. December is going to be a bit too crazy for me to attempt side projects in addition to my other commitments. Maybe next year. But whenever I do it, it'll be digital for sure.

Oh come on Shannon you're only moving across the country...you should be able to do a December daily too lol.

I'm planning on doing it. Researching at the moment. I think I'm going to do it hybrid style. Fancy a bit of cutting and sticking for a change. I think I'm going to sign up for Shimelle Laine's Journal your Christmas class, quite a few people seem to have done the two projects together in the past.

If my album didn't lie unfinished from last year, I'd consider it, but... I don't know. Last year what blocked me was that in spite of having prepared all the pages and elements ready in advance, the actual picture editing and printing didn't happen - I was traveling over Christmas so that certainly played a factor. We will be at home this year, so that might make me more likely to succeed. But I just don't have the energy to make an all hybrid album like last year, nor do I want to swing the $80 for the kit... What to do, what to do... :dizzy

I've done Shimelle's JYC for the last...mmm...I think 3 years. It dovetails nicely with December Daily. The cool thing is she lets you repeat the workshop every year for free after your initial class payment.

I'll have to check out Shimelle's class- I've never heard of her.

So I keep going back to the idea of an actual album, with printed digital layouts, and I found this binder on Amazon....

Contemplating getting this binder, with 8.5x11 page protectors for my layouts. This way I can combine the best of both worlds- a pretty album, but a digital layout.

The wheels are spinning....

not 100%... depends if i want to design OR take off and enjoy the month :P

i LOVE studio calico, but i'm not shelling out $80, for that kit. i have way too much in my paper stash OR i'll pick up some more digi stuff and do it that way and then just add some real embellies. :)

I'll do the support group with you guys. I REALLY need to find a way back into scrapping, I'm missing it so much in my life, I'm hoping a project will get me motivated.

I have tried to start this every December but never get around to it! Maybe this will be the year! :) Tania, I'll cheer you on! I miss your scrapping!

I always say I will but never end up actually making it past the first week, so this year I won't even lie to myself and say I am. lol I might try to do something similar on my blog instead (that way if I want I can just go back and scrap that) but I won't beat myself up if I don't.
