Dare I mention....Fifty Shades?

lol

There's not much left in the world for me to say "I'm not old enough" to.

I used to read alot of romance type novels. I guess after reading so much of the YA, vampire, werewolf, etc. books lately, it is refreshing sometimes to actually read adult books again. lol. With more adult subject matter. What kind of books did you used to read that would make me clutch pearls? lol...

Woman i have books that would make you clutch pearls LOL
I read the YA for the drama hahaha
Im glad you turned me onto them though ( BDB). they do have some good naughty moments. i just want more LOL

I've read them...I think they are horribly written...seriously if you consider yourself somewhat of a literary snob you probably won't finish...but if you like a good mindless read every once in a while you'll probably like them!

Something just sucks you in and you can't put them down....overall I liked them.

I wondered about these because they are on the top of Amazon's Kindle sellers. It doesn't sound like they are a must read, so I'll probably pass.

I just finished the third BDB book. I feel like a similar story line is going to start running through the series. Can someone tell me - is each book about another of the "brothers" finding their mate? I get a little tired if each book begins to feel like formula writing.

Yep, each one is the same storyline. (But who cares?! :D)

I am almost done with book 1 of Shades now and I like the characters and chemistry but find the control issues annoying and honestly they are less sexy to me than Black Dagger Brotherhood or the Highlanders. lol.

yes the BDB books all involve a brother and their mate, but each brother is so different and has so many issues and there are lots of trials and tribulations in each book. I am sad that I just finished the newest one and now have to wait for the next one.

i've read the reviews of them, and the intelligently-written reviews aren't very complimentary. they all say it's clumsy writing in the sex scenes, and it's not very well-written in general... the lead female is bland and blah and the whole relationship is a bit unrealistic anyway. would you agree?? idk, i doubt i'll read these.
