It's that time of year where my crock pots come out of hiding and become my best friend again... Do you have a favorite..dump and go crock pot recipe? Something your family go's gaga over every time you make it? Something you love to make? Something easy I gotta try? Hit me up..... This girl loves to cook and try new things ... and my human trash can of a hubby eats everything...lol ..and did i mention I have teens
I don't use the crock pot alot, but hubby uses it for chilli when he makes it for a crowd and I have used it to make a whole chicken a few times in it ... always comes out great.
A friend from my book club told me about a good one that my whole family loves. dump in crock pot: 2-3 lbs stew meet 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or any cream of ---- soup) 1 cup coke put on low all day. My family loves this one with either baby potatoes or mashed potatoes. The crock pot recipe makes an amazing gravy to put over the potatoes.
One of our favorites: Creamy Chicken Italian Pasta 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts 8 ounces cream cheese soft or melted 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup 12 ounces rotini pasta cooked 1 Pack of Italian Dressing Spray your slow cooker with non-stick spray for easier clean up. Then place your chicken breasts in the bottom. In mixing bowl add chicken soup, cream cheese, and Italian dressing packet. (Cream cheese chunks are fine, they will melt while cooking) Pour sauce over your chicken. Cook on low for 4 and a half hours or on high for 2 hours. (or until cooked) Mix halfway through to get cream cheese fully mixed in. When chicken is cooked . Shred with fork and add cooked pasta. Stir to combine. We top ours with bread crumbs and eat with a salad or garlic bread!

I do crockpot meals a lot!! Mostly recently I did chicken breasts with a bottle of sweet honey bbq sauce, a can of crushed pineapple, and some cut up bell peppers. It was really good. Cube steak and onion, with 2C water. Mix a packet of onion gravy, a packet of mushroom gravy, and a packet of brown gravy with 1C water and add it the last 30 min. Chicken with a jar of salsa and taco seasoning (optional) for tacos or over rice. Beef stew cubes with the same recipe as the cube steak. Chicken pot pie...chicken, frozen veggies, and cream of chicken soup. Make biscuits to serve with it. I'm sure there are more lol
I've used it two times this week. I made this, this week! Yummy. https://www.culinaryhill.com/slow-cooker-lasagna-soup/ And this is a staple (I make it in the crockpot). https://cookieandkate.com/best-lentil-soup-recipe/#tasty-recipes-23764-jump-target I'm going to make this next week: https://www.sugarfreemom.com/recipes/crock-pot-low-carb-un-stuffed-cabbage-roll-soup/ It might just be easier for me to share my crockpot pinterest board: https://www.pinterest.com/e_liz/recipes/crockpot/
We transitioned from a crock pot to an Instantpot, so if anyone is interested, I would absolutely recommend making a whole chicken. So easy!!! ... and you can eat it as a meal and have left overs for other things. I use this recipe (short version: 6 minutes per pound on manual/high, let it natural release for 15 mins). https://natashaskitchen.com/instant-pot-whole-chicken/
I made this once and it was so good, we're making it again on Sunday! Barbacoa Beef: https://www.fivehearthome.com/slow-cooker-beef-barbacoa/
I made this today and my husband really liked it. "It tastes like something my mom would have made," the ultimate compliment.
We use both a Crockpot and an Instantpot. We had to make some major changes to our meals in the past 5 months for our daughter - we are coming up with some new favorites along the way. I am obsessed with cilantro and am so glad I didn't get the gene that makes it taste like soap. So, I have to share a favorite Cilantro & Lime Chicken recipe. I usually double this so that we have leftovers for the week. It is great to heat up some for a quick taco/burrito/bowl and my daughter loves to put it on her salads. 2 lbs chicken breasts (boneless/skinless) 1/2 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup lime juice 1/4 cup olive oil (or I sometimes use avocado oil) 4 to 5 peeled garlic cloves 1 chopped jalapeno (I take the seeds out because I'm a wimp and don't want it too spicy) 2 tsp cumin 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp kosher salt 1 tsp ground pepper 1/2 to 1 cup chopped cilantro (depending on how much you want) Blend everything up except the chicken and cilantro in either a good blender (I use a Vitamix) or a food processor until the garlic and jalapenos are fully blended up into a nice sauce. Place both the chicken and the sauce into the crockpot and cook on low for about 5 to 6 hours. I have it cooking while I'm at work. Or you can cook it on high for a few hours. When it is done it will easily shred using forks. Add the cilantro after the chicken is all shredded. Stir it all together and enjoy!
Oh that sounds really good I am gonna have to give it a try sometime soon thank you for the new idea!!!
Here are a couple of crock pot recipes I use often: Mississippi Roast Hawaiian Haystacks Also I love to make refried beans in the crock pot.
I transitioned to an Instant Pot and the family favorite from it is a Pot Roast. Here is the recipe: https://kristineskitchenblog.com/instant-pot-pot-roast/
This is one of our many favs: Slow cooker ground beef stew. https://pin.it/3gk49yn So yummy with garlic bread. Another fav : Easy swiss steak. https://pin.it/QgeSK1h Great with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. This one is also yummy. I recently realized you can cook your spaghetti right in the slow cooker and OMG it is so good that all day sauce flavor soaks into the spaghetti and is delish and the leftovers are even better. https://pin.it/67GSVLg That's it for now!
I really hate cooking so the crockpot is my GO TO tool!! Luckily my husband cooks most nights but I like to share the load every once in a while. This is one of our favorites because it is so easy and super yummy on a cold night: https://www.southyourmouth.com/2019/03/crock-pot-chicken-gravy.html We always make mashed potatoes to go with it. If I'm chef for the night they're instant but if Hubs is cooking they're homemade. This one is a little more work but worth it: https://dinnerthendessert.com/slow-cooker-creamy-lemon-chicken/ This one is the easiest: https://emilybites.com/2020/11/slow-cooker-chicken-and-stuffing.html I double up the stuffing (one full bag of Pepperidge Farms stuffing), increase the chicken broth for the additional stuffing and skip the sour cream because I just hate sour cream.
It's still super hot where I am - but our schedules have become a complete crazy chaotic mess so yes my crockpot is out and used a lot more often. Not many soups as it's still 80-95 degrees though. When it is cooler chicken and dumplings are a family favorite (my 3 teens request this year round). We also do a lot of meatballs, vary the sauce up from brown gravy, mushroom gravy, marina, something like you would put in Swedish meatballs. I need to add some variety to our menu though so am loving the ideas.
