After years, I’ve suddenly noticed I’m yearning to go back to scrapbooking. So here I am. My computer has only been turned on a handful of times in the last two years so he’s quite slow still. But I think I’ve got it ready. And now I find out I forgot all the shortcuts and how to actually work with Photoshop. Is there a crash course or something like that? I don’t even know how to resize my photos anymore.

Hi, good to see you back. I'm not sure about any sort of crash course for Photoshop, but here is the link to the tutorials here
Angela has been posting tutorials using the Affinity suite for a while (it's now free), and I was pretty amazed at everything it can do when she had a "watch me scrap" chat earlier this week. She does have several tutorials in the listing and even some on YouTube.

I'm sure those brain synapses will begin to fire once you get started. I don't know if I have a link to shortcuts anymore for photoshop. "v" selects the move tool -- your friend for moving and sizing photos. an't wait to see what you pull together. Be patient with yourself as you stretch those fingers and brain muscles.

So good to see you back here @berniek ! and I love seeing your little one in your avatar too. Hope things are well with you.

To resize a photo, are you meaning once it's in a layout in Photoshop? If so, ctrl-T is the resize tool for me (but I'm still using PSCS5) so my shortcuts might not be the same still. Lol.

Post anything else you get stuck on here and hopefully one of us can pop in and help out!

Berniek! I am in the same boat kinda! I have been making books and such without the community of a scrapbook challenges.
My husband bought me a new computer while I was way out of town. (Maine for a week) he knew I would panic if I was here. This meant my 20 year old CS5 program obsolete and has to get subscription.
So many bells and whistles.
I was freaking out!! I do know muscle memory is real. So I sat down and closed myself in front of computer (fir so many hours)
Opening a new canvas
Pulling elements and photos in
Resizing that little lock -Maintain Aspect Ratio" (chain icon) is enabled in the options bar.
Really it’s pushing buttons, trying and failing success (then forgetting) and try and find again.
The peeps here are so so hepful
Bless you @cfile for your friendship and encouragement as I try and remember this craft that brought such joy in the past.

Hi @berniek and welcome back! the learning padhas a lot if great ps tutorials in it.. i have some videos there too but they are on older versions.

Give a shout if we can help you out!! I too cannot wait to see photos of your little one!

When I forget how to do something or don't know to begin with, I can definitely find a YouTube video for it. If you upgrade to subscription, the AI capabilities make the Help feature kind of amazing. I can tell Photoshop to remove the background and it will find the subject, create a mask and remove the background. Creates great extractions!
