Happy National Cranberry Relish day!

We’re coming up on Thanksgiving here in the United States and one staple of Thanksgiving is cranberry sauce. I grew up eating the canned cranberry jelly so that’s always been my favorite but I have also made cranberry relish from scratch in the past.

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)?
What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple?
What’s your favorite berry?

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)? Yes, many times. Cranberry sauce, cranberry juice, cranberry bread, cranberry streusel coffee cake...And I recently made a wild rice salad that included dried cranberries

What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple? Mashed potatoes!

What’s your favorite berry? Blueberry. But I also love strawberries, raspberries, blackberries

We drink cranberry juice and also cook cranberries to use in pies and deserts. We also add them to Mulled Wine

I'm not American, so no Thanksgiving traditions here.

My favourite Berries are Blackberries.

I have had cranberry jellies, both canned and homemade. I did like it, but I've never made it myself and when I host Thanksgiving (almost every year), I don't make it and nobody else brings it, so I guess it's not that important for any of us. :giggle

As far as a staple??? Hmmm... I guess mashed potatoes and then definitley pumpkin pie for everyone else in my family. I'd rather eat apple pie. Lol.

I have eaten cranberries in more dishes than I can remember. Just today, I had an Afia brand falafel bowl that includes dried cranberries.

I have made my own cranberry dressing for Thanksgiving for over a decade and a half. I buy the canned stuff for my kids because they like it, but I prefer my homemade whole berry version. This year will be the first in a long, long time that I won't be making cranberry sauce. I ordered a vegan feast just for myself from Botanical Fare, a plant based restaurant in Charlottesville.

My favorite Thanksgiving food is pumpkin pie, which I will still be making because I want more than just the two slices that come with the feast I'm ordering.

I love all berries, but if I had to choose one I'd choose the blueberry because it's so nutritious. The best flavor, though, in my opinion, is a freshly picked strawberry in June.

Cranberry streusel coffee cake sounds delicious! I’ve never had that or cranberry bread.

I grew up eating blackberries from our backyard so I like those too. My mom still grows them.

I guess cranberry sauce isn’t a staple for everyone because my in-laws never include it either. ;)

Yes to apple pie over pumpkin any day!

I forgot about dried cranberries. I enjoy those in salads and oatmeal white chocolate chip cookies.

I love that you make your own cranberry dressing every year. I bet it’s delicious.

I hope you enjoy your vegan feast and pumpkin pie!

You definitely can’t beat a fresh picked strawberry; I miss the ones we grew.

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)?
Yes, if I didn't I bet my Canadian citizenship would be swiftly revoked! Relish/sauce & dried are the main ways but I've also had cranberry juice though it's just not my fave

What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple?
Turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, bread stuffing, pumpkin pie.....can't really choose to be honest.

What’s your favorite berry?
Toss up between cranberries & blueberries but honestly I love most berries in some form. I love cranberry for all year round - dried cranberries in salads & cranberry sauce for chicken mostly (turkey is maybe a twice a year thing here due to cost & availability). Blueberries I also love just to snack on & it's one of my go to jam/preserve flavours as well.

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)? Yes, I love Cran-Apple juice (mix of cranberries and apples), like cranberry sauce with turkey and dressing and make a frozen "salad" with cranberries, pineapples, pecans, cool whip and cream cheese (we call it The Pink Stuff) every Thanksgiving.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple? I love our fried turkey (we use lots of butter and creole seasonings injected into the bird, as well as a dry rub of more creole seasoning on the outside before we fry it-- so juicy, tender and flavorful!), and my Apple Crumb Pie, as well as the sweet potato cassarole that I make (bake sweet potatoes, mash the insides with an egg, splash of heavy cream and some vanilla, bake with a pecan/brown sugar/butter topping.) My mom's cornbread dressing with fresh sage is pretty good too!

What’s your favorite berry? Probably strawberries!

I didn’t think anyone would choose cranberries as their favorite berry! I’m glad you enjoy them so much!

Your thanksgiving spread sounds delicious! I’ll be right over! ;) I’m making a different “pink stuff” for our Thanksgiving: pudding, jello, berries, and whipped cream.

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)? Yes.. I do like cranberry juice too and cran-raisins.

I like the canned jellied cranberry sauce.. I have had the "real stuff" LOL Mom made it and my Aunt made it once or twice but even Oceanspray whole cranberry sauce I am not over the moon for. Perhaps it is the texture?? I do like the jellied though :)

What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple? Pumpkin Pie for sure, but besides that, I enjoy the whole meal. Ours is a clam dip (like baked stuff clams) that I also use in place of stuffing/dressing, Turkey, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts :) We used to make ruttebegas (turnips or swede or neeps are the other names for it) but with just the 2 of us, we had to cut down on all the sides and we do a Jenno turkey breast so it is all easy peasy cook and clean up. Pumpkin Pie though is the favorite!
What’s your favorite berry? Strawberry, Blueberry and Black Berry tend to be my favorites :)

Yay for another canned jellied cranberry sauce fan! Twinners! ;) I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving meal and pumpkin pie Christa. Clam dip and Brussel sprouts have never been a part of ours, but we do like shrimp as an appetizer.

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)?
Yes, just never relish.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple?
Stuffing.

What’s your favorite berry?
Any really. Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries, and Blackberries.

Never relish is a good choice imo lol

Have you ever eaten cranberries in any form (relish, juice, etc.)? Another fan of Ocean Spray canned jellied cranberry sauce. I've tried Ocean Spray whole berry and a couple of relish ones, but nope, gimme the "good" stuff, LOL!!!

I also had a dried cranberries in a "salad" at a crop 20 years ago that I loved. Got the recipe, but never made it. I should.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving staple? If I have to choose only one it would be stuffing ... REAL stuffing ... cooked IN the turkey.

What’s your favorite berry? Strawberries
