Countdown to ? | Pad patter 11.27

Right this very minute I'm counting down on my (new!) fitbit 33 more minutes for my pumpkin pie to bake (taking an internet break after making pies & stuffing today!) ;)

I have a countdown to Christmas on my phone... but otherwise that's it. In my head, I might be secretly counting down until the week after christmas where we have little to NO plans & we can just enjoy each other without somewhere else to be! ;)

I was counting down until yesterday at around 4pm. We are taking 5 days off of school work! Yay. It's been an intense couple of months. We spent the day cleaning, then decorating and then making Christmas crafts for tutors and friends. The only thing I have to make for Thanksgiving dinner is green bean casserole so I've really been able to just be with my kids!

The next thing I'm counting down is to next Thursday. It's the last day of our weekly homeschool group (which I direct) until January. It'll be so nice to not have that each week to plan, set up, execute, etc...

Right now counting down the words until I can get this month-long monkey off my back (less than 5 k to go, woo). I will be so hecking glad to see the back end of NaNo.

But among all that I'm counting down to December. I'm looking forward to the month in a way I wouldn't have expected. And yes, after that, countdown to MOC. And then countdown to a month of doing nothing :-D

July? Enjoy! I’m sure where ever you end up down here will be amazing. Can only speak for New Zealand but my biggest tip, bring warm clothes that can be layered as it will be winter by then.

Yes, we will and swim suits too. First is Auckland and Rotunda in New Zealand with a side trip to Hobbiton. Then Sidney, then Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, and finally a brief stay in Hawaii before we head home.

The only thing I'm really counting down are the days until my son is home from deployment, but I'm not even sure when that will be exactly. So, I'm basically counting down until probably late summer.
Of course, I'm always counting down to the next school break haha
my heart hurts reading this.

along those lines ... the only thing i'm counting down is until the day i see my Marine for Christmas leave. it's been a year since i saw him last. i can't imagine what a deployment will fill like when the time comes. :( thank you to your son for his service Jan - and hoping the days go quickly for all of you!

Thanks, Jenn! All I can say is I am so glad to live in the day and age that we do, and have the technology that we have. I get to talk to him pretty frequently through messages, unless they are on a mission, and that helps a lot!

Best of luck! ( I hope you wouldn't be footing the bill for coming over here for an interview though & if you are heading my way, PM me when you know dates or details :) )

I’ll probably do an online Skype interview for that one if it came to that point as the cost would be too much but if they offer to pay I won’t say no.

I'm trying to keep track of the days, just because I'm trying to stay on top of things, but I'm not really counting down. I've been attempting to live in the moment. You know, enjoying what is here instead of constantly wishing/hoping for some future event. It's a delicate balance to plan ahead/make to-do lists/use my planner, but then at the same time, not look too far ahead. LOL

And DS reminded me it's a month to the day that he'll be 11 _ lots of countdowns going on here apparently

236 days until we (daughter and I) leave for Down Under. And yes, I have been counting since it was over 900 days.

Hoping to drag out the Christmas decorations and get my countdown going again. Advent calendar starts Sunday but my Becca cards started last Saturday (31 days). Time to get moving.
Bev, I hope you both enjoy your trip Down Under. The closest you will be to me is when you are in Sydney. If you are going to Rotorua in New Zealand you will be close to my brother who lives there.

No count-downs for me but this is the first year in a LONG time or maybe forever that our tree was up and decorated before we had Thanksgiving dinner yesterday! That's because visiting Granddaughter and a friend's daughter did it all for me!!! I'll never say Thanksgiving is too early - if someone does the work for me!!!

I'm counting down until school ends for Winter Break. 19 days to go! We've been so busy lately, and even when we plan a lazy day at home I have a long list of things I need to get done. I need a real break to scrap and relax. (I feel a little bad not saying "to spend time with the family," but this introvert has spent way too many days with family and other people lately and really wants a few days away from everyone, even the kids. Unfortunately, I'm not going to get that. Best I can hope for is that all 3 tweens and teens spend some time in their rooms at the same time, LOL!)
