Have you ever been in a contest?
Have you ever won?

I was in a read-a-thon as a kid for Easter Seals. I distinctly remember a few family members being pretty peeved that they sponsored me by the page, and not by the book or a flat amount! I need to see if I can find the exact amount, but I remember my mom moving a few donations from by the page to by the book. $.10/page didn't sound bad, but I read enough that it was over $100 pledge! But hey, I got to be on the local television show for it.

I know Michele @michelepixels recently won a photography contest!

How about you? Have you entered any contests?

Oh my goodness Courtney - you must have read a ton of pages!!! That is funny that the "donaters" were not happy! OOPs! :giggle

I can't think of anything recently. This is gong back many many years, but in 8th grade I won an honorable mention in one of those national writing contests and as a freshman in college I won 2nd place in the freshman design competition - I wasn't on TV but my local paper picked it up.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but my sister won a sweepstakes contest once that she didn't even enter! :giggle The prize just showed up. She has always had that kind of luck too. My youngest son is like that too. He won the kid's door prize at our company picnic once and my oldest son was so jealous! He's always winning little things too, like if we play bingo at church, he'll win like 5 times and leave with a huge pile of trinkets and candy. Lol!

I did get my page picked at Pink Reptile's monthly blog contest for June and got $10 to spend in her store! Woot!!

One time I won a weekend trip to NYC for 2 at a company Christmas party. That was fun. But typically, I don't win contests or prizes that often.

Nothing is coming to mind. I would love to win PowerBall or the Megamillions if I had a choice! :giggle

A lot of times, I don't enter things... I don't want the spam. :giggle

good one Jenn! here's a little fact - I have never purchased a lottery ticket, not ever! my husband does occasionally. but I don't bother.

Usually, I don't win either. But this must be a lucky week in our family. I just won a Lularoe dress from a friend's giveaway. And my son just won a prize from the summer reading program (we don't know what it is yet because we need to go pick it up).

I won a Halloween costume contest with a costume that my mother made for me in 5th grade :)

But one of the best things I ever won was the Queen of Scrap Contest at ScrapMatters just a couple of months or so before it closed. I was the last winner in 2013 and the awesome prizes were a 3TB EHD that I'm still using today and RadLab!

I enter things from time to time, but not very often.

LOL! That's so funny! We don't often... and when we do, it's only when the chances are nil and more nil. :giggle

My 9 year old however is lucky. He loves scratch offs... and ALWAYS wins. ALWAYS. Kinda freaky that he always finds money. He keeps showing me pennies, nickles and coins... I tell him to find the dollars now! haha!

Wait... I won MOC in 2016. Oops.... can't forget that! I scrapped and scrapped determined to finish, not thinking for the life of me I would actually win! Wasn't on the radar!

I won the Iron Scrapper Grand Prize in 2013 - a new laptop and $250 gift certificate. I never could use that laptop since it was a PC and I'm a MAC. I tried and tried, and failed every time. I finally gifted it to my son-in-law, who loved it. And the Guest Pollywog after last year's MOC was a great prize.

My family is much luckier than me. I didn't win this, but my daughter was awarded a full scholarship to her first choice college back in 2005. At the time, it was worth $120,000 and increased as tuition did. I've always said it was like hitting the lottery. Speaking of the lottery, my mother hit big back in 1983. She picked all 6 numbers in the PA lottery and shared 3.6 million with another winner.

One of the earliest winnings I can remember was actually my college boyfriend's, but we had both entered and he let me have the prize: rollerblades. It was one of those kinds of drawings you find in stores and you just fill out a little form with your name and contact info and drop it in a box. That was 1992 or '93 and I still have the rollerblades!

The contest Courtney is referring to is actually a drawing too, the Clickinmoms Scavenger Hunt. Participants earned an entry every time we photographed one of the 101 items on the scavenger hunt list in July. My name was drawn along with 5 other people and this year they assigned prize packages. The best part of my prize package this year is a generous lens rental.

And this is actually the second time I've won a prize in a CM Scavenger Hunt. The first time was a few years ago, when the hunt was more complicated. We had to include a paper sign with the CM logo in every photo, we had to find everything on the list to have a chance to win, and we shared our photos in a thread in the CM forum instead of on Instagram like in the last couple of years. So that win felt like more of an accomplishment. Maybe that's why the prizes were better back then too. My prize package that year included a seat in one of their classes, something none of the prize packages include this year, and what I would have most wanted to win again this year.

I have never bothered with lottery tickets and haven't entered many contests. But I have won several small contests over the years in digiscrap forums and such. Like during MOC, this year and last year, my name was drawn for one or two of the games or challenge contests. These kinds of little contests are one of my favorite things about online forums.

Back in the days of scrapbooking magazines, I was a Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame honorable mention and a Memory Makers Master (after being a runner up the year before). It was a fun year with an amazing prize package... but with all that it entailed (magazine, books, appearances and teaching) it was the beginning of my scrapping burnout that had me take a break for a few years.

I don't typically win at drawings... my son is the lucky one with that!

I won once $5,000 from a radio giveaway. You called in and had to guess a number. They had given clues but I really was not sure so I just guessed a number and it was the right number. It was pretty neat until I had to put on taxes but it did give us some money to use for Christmas presents (it was right in the fall and my kids were still in elementary school).

I have won some small prizes over the years with my scrapbooking ($100 giftcard to store was the largest) and I recently won a guest CT spot for Tinci Designs.

My hubby plays the lottery every week but as of yet he has not hit anything yet.

Um, YES! How could you forget that awesome prize? :byay

Sweet! :fairydanceYou made me recall, I won a staff Iron Scrapper Prize - Print credits! It was awesome.

Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame honorable mention and a Memory Makers Master
Which year? I used to swoon over the Hall of Famers, but was not confident enough to ever enter! I loved Memory Makers.

I won once $5,000 from a radio giveaway
That's awesome! Even if taxes sucked.

I was in the top X (can't remember) in a youth poem writing contest when I was a teenager. I didn't win, but my poem got published in their book so that was pretty cool. I really don't consider myself much of a writer, back then but especially now. I'd love to give it another try though.

I also remember winning 1kg of licorice in a drawing contest when I was a kid. I was in heaven! I had never seen so much candy together, and it was all mine! My mom was less happy with it. lol

I've won a few things. Usually my luck runs far between. ROFL

Let's see:
I entered to win one of those Origami owl locket necklaces and few years ago and won and now I don't even wear the thing ROFL
I entered to win Disney on Ice tickets and won those for our family a few years back too.
I've won coupons here and there to shops and designers. That's usually what I get excited for!!! ROFL
I won entry to the Scrapaneers live event last year, that was awesome
I've been published in a few poetry journals that I've entered.

My daughter won $100 amazon gift card last year for a teen writing contest over the summer.
We just never win the lotto when we enter!!! ROFL
