In love with places I've never been to

My friends and I were chatting yesterday about concerts. Or rather, they were chatting and I was listening! I've only been to a few concerts, okay, 2. Backstreet Boys (my dad made me take my sister) and They Might be Giants (totally awesome!).

I've never been a huge concert goer. I like to sing along in my own home instead!

How about you? How many concerts have you been to? Do you love them? Who would be the one concert you really wish you could see (no limits on money, living, or distance)?

I haven't been in years. I went to many when I was in my 20s and 30s. The only events I go to occasionally are hockey games and haven't even been to one of those in a few years (we used to get free tickets through my hubs' work but not anymore). I'd rather spend my money on the theatre and/or dinner.

I've been to a few, mostly in my teens and 20's. I don't love going to them though. My husband and son, on the other hand, LOVE concerts. They got to 4-5 a year... last year was Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure, The Verve Pipe and I can't remember who else (they just got their tickets for U2 in June). My son went to Riot Fest all three days as well. Clara is mildly into concerts. She is going to Lollapalooza with friends one of the days this year, which I'm trying not to think too much about yet. They're good girls, they'll be okay, they're good girls, they'll be okay... (my current mantra).

I get to hear my daughters singing almost every day. Those are my favorite concerts. :)

I might have been to one or two small concerts in college that I don't remember. (I have such a bad memory. That's probably why I'm compelled to record my life in scrapbooks.)

But my daughters and I went to see Pentatonix in concert last November and it was awesome!

If someone offered me money to go to any concert in the world, I'd ask if the money could be used to go to a Supernatural convention instead. :D

Use to go a lot but not anymore. Living up here in Alpena, its a 5 hour drive to Detroit where all the big concert are held. You would have to stay overnight. My hubby and I use to go quite a bit when we lived in Florida and my all time favorite was the Johnny Cash concert. He was the love of my life for years. And I loved June also. The day of the concert, she was ill so I never got to meet her. I got to meet Johnny after the concert and got photos of us together.
There is only one person I can think of that I would love to see in concert and that is Susan Boyle. LOVE her voice!! There is a woman who stuck her tongue out at the world and said---Don't tell me I can't do it!!

When I was in college, we went to lots of concerts. I bet we went to 20 or 30 in a relatively short time span. It was awesome. I haven't been to any big ones in a few years, but I have been to some smaller local ones. My all time favorite concert was AC/DC...it was on my wish list for a long time!! I wish I had seen Guns n Roses back in the day, but never had the chance. I would really love to go to the Bonnaroo Music Festival one year...I just can't find anyone who wants to go with me.

I've only been to two concerts. One major tour, the New Edition Heartbreak tour, I think I was around 11 or 12. It was totally awesome at that time. ROFL

The other was a less mainstream, more like a booking, of a small rap group at a local club when I was in my 20's. I'm not really one for crowds any where so concerts aren't really my thing.

Love a good concert! Seen Kiss 3 times....U2 3 times...No Doubt once. ..black Eyed Peas once...and bastille this past March!

I've only been to a few, mostly because of the cost. I'd go purchase a CD instead of a concert ticket because it was cheaper and lasted longer! My "big" concerts were seeing John Denver twice when I was in high school. The second concert was at the Universal Amphitheater in Hollywood (when it was still outdoors, under the stars). My friends BF stood in line for 3 days to get the tickets, and we were the 3rd row back, front and center! Dick Clark and his family was sitting in front of us, and Karen Carpenter was behind us. It was truly an amazing experience!

I have only been to a few (Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman), but if I had the chance to go to a Backstreet Boys concert now, I would totally do it! :giggle

I've seen Michael Buble twice, Elton John twice, Barry Manilow, Kenny G, Heart, and a few others although my brain is not working great right now. The last concert was Elton John. I think. Or Barry Manilow.

When we went to see They Might Be Giants it was in a club type setting. Nice and small, less than 2500 people. As opposed to Backstreet Boys which was in the Delta Center, and seating for 19,000!

I love going to concerts although it's expensive. Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Robbie Williams and many others. My favorite was probably R.E.M years ago.

I would love to go to a Jon McLaughlin concert but as I'm probably the only Dane obsessed with him chances of him coming to Denmark are slim :(

Hmmm.... I used to think I never really went to concerts, but I guess I have been to a bunch. We are right near (as in, it's in our town) one of the amphitheaters around here. So, we go to usually one every other year or so... we would go every year, but sometimes that doesn't happen. We also go to Giants Stadium and when I was a teen, Great Adventure.

I've seen NKOTB (HAHA!/teenager), Kenny Rogers, Dave Matthews Band (Front Row Center, Macy Gray opened), Kenny Chesney, Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Maroon Five, and there is more... I just can't remember them at the moment. lol

I so want to see Zac Brown Band this summer!

Jenn as a teen I worked at GA - so we could see the shows for free on our nights off and if we were "working" and someone good was playing - we'd sneak away from work for awhile to watch the concerts. :giggle I forgot about those! I can't even remember all the line-ups ... but deftly NKOTB.

I've seen Billy Joel, Madonna, Dave Matthews Band, Elvis Costello and lots of little shows around the Jersey Shore (asbury park etc) that I can not even remember them all right now, plus I've gone to mashups like Lalapalooza and Lilith Fair. The last show we went to was March 1 in the village ... a tiny little venue called La Poisson Rouge to see a Welch band - The Joy Formidable.

I know... so many little shows at GA and the shore, especially The Surf Club and Stone Pony. Always so many in the summer! @jenn mccabe
