I am drawn to colors... but I have favorites for certain things. Do you?

I mean for clothes, I've always been drawn to black, lol! I tend to use neutral and pinks for makeup, and my hair tends to be tame, though on the red side. Even when I tried pink, in a week it lightened, and then my hair turned into fire, lol (reddish, blonde to white blond on the tips, so odd how it changed). Nail polish on my toes tends to be brighter and fun.

For layouts, I had to go to my gallery to look... and I tend to use neutral colors and blend pattern/colors into my background. I know that I'm also drawn to bright colorful kits, rather than pastel. I also love neutral kits. I need a white/cream/kraft in almost every kit or I don't know how to start right away with my BG, lol! Brain stumped. My pictures tend to be color, an a sprinkling of black and white images.

What about you?

I think I'm the same way ... love color but I have my "go to" for different things too.

For clothes I like black - but I am really drawn to greys. I have a problem not buying all the grey things. I don't wear much makeup but my blush might be on the peachy side in the winter when I'm pale and more rosy in the summer when I'm tan. My hair is pretty tame too - but the sun creates crazy highlights that often make it look like golden straw (scarecrow-ish?) I tend to wear dark colors on my nails - grey, purples, deep navy.

I love a light background w/the occasional woodgrain. And most of the time I am scrapping with color photos too. But I have an issue with photo processing ... I am addicted to a matte black look and can not stop.

My closet is shades of black, blue and purple with a hint of red.

I very rarely wear makeup and go neutral.

For scrapbooking, I like white or neutral backgrounds so the paint stands out. Haha.

I have always been drawn to b/w re clothes but I did start getting in to more colors.. I love the fall shades... the deep mauve, browns oranges reds teals . re makeup very nuetral. I am nuetral everywhere. My personality is not to stand out so I guess that is why I focus on the nuetral rather than bright and spunky!

I love jewel tones the best. Deep, rich colors. Burgundy, eggplant, deep gold, sapphire blue, deep reds. Fore the DSD BYOC Inspiration Challenge I was drawn to those colors the most. I know that purples tend to be the death of digi-kits, but I will purchase just about any kit (that I can use) if it has purple in it!

For clothes, I tend to wear black as a base then add in the colors from there. I look horrid in pastels, beige & oranges, so I tend to stay away from them when scrapping, too. It's funny now that I think of it!

I am a bright colors kinda girl. I love hot pink and turquoise blue over all the others though. My current purse is turquoise blue and my iPhone case is as close to hot pink as I could find... it's more of a coral pink. My toe nails are always hot pink in the summer. At home I buy pink things whenever possible so that everyone else in the house knows it's mine (I have a hubby and two sons). My tools are all flowerly and pink so they'll leave them where I think they belong. My hubby still steals them though because he can never find his tools. Lol.

For layouts, I always am drawn to any kit that has bright colors and lots of them! I do like a more neutral background though so the color can pop and don't just overwhelm with massive rainbows! Lol!

I mostly wear blue, but I have a little purple too. I also have a cheerful yellow T-shirt because it’s my favorite color in general, just not great for me to wear. I don’t wear make-up.

For kits I like colorful and cheerful and realistic.

My 3yo is going through a green obsession. He just decided one day that green was his favorite color and now if green is a choice, that's what he chooses (like the little ice cream bowls I use for fruit) or he will declare that the green choice is the best (like when we were talking about the leaves on the trees turning colors). A big part of the reason he wanted to be a dragon for Halloween this year is because he knows they're green. Imagine his delight when we found him a green dragon costume yesterday at the Halloween store!

My sister likes to joke that her two favorite colors are pink and sparkle... and I wholeheartedly agree! I have lots of pink accessories & clothes. I wear lots of blue & green too. I recently bought a bright yellow dress with pink polka dots precisely because of how bright & yellow it was; it's like a fashion challenge.

Although I don't wear yellow or orange or coral or anything in that family, I scrap with those colors a lot. Maybe to make up for it?! I really prefer to use white as a background if I can manage it since they show off the splatters I'm addicted to the best. If I can't use a white background, then I will probably 'whiten it up' with some gesso stamps.

I love earthy tones and neutrals and love pinks of all tones. My least fave color group is pastel. I can only use them in small amounts or it drives me nuts. I did what you did Jenn....I took a peek in my gallery and it was obvious that I love pinks, blue, green and grey. I don't care much for yellow but love gold.

That's one of the things about digi that I just love....if a color/tone/hue doesn't work for me, it only takes a few seconds to change it. In my paper scrapping days, I would spend hours searching thru paper at the store, looking for just the right paper. Digi is so much more versatile for products.

I love bold colors! The dress I'm wearing in my avi is a vibrant blue with bright yellow flowers. I've been known to wear it with a bright yellow sweater. I love yellow. My car is yellow though, and I decided that I don't really like yellow on a car. I've proclaimed all my future cars will be red or blue. I don't like to wear black because it enhances the dark circles under my eyes. White makes me look even bigger, so I stick with vibrant colors.
I use a lot of bright colors & patterns in my LOs. I have an insane amount of green nail polish, I have no idea why. I don't even wear nail polish that often, but I have a two tiered lazy Susan filled with the stuff! Lol.
My favorite colors:
yellow
red
lime green

I love fall colors and they look best on me: chocolate brown, pumpkin orange, golden yellow, dark purple, olive greens, etc. I also like red, teal, and any shade of green.

My house is greens and browns, except for the bedrooms where I allowed others to pick colors (mostly shades of blue).

Scrapping? Whatever works for the photos, the kit I want to use, and my mood.

I have 2 colors I dislike: pink and grey. I have used them on layouts, but in very small quantities. When shopping for a kit, if it has too much pink, I don't even stop to look. I do wear a few grey t-shirts (like my Google Fiber shirt) and grey sweat pants, but never, ever pink.

I love black and gray to wear and will paint my nails bright purple or something. I actually love color just not on my clothes. i think my current favorite color is mint green or lavender. That changes with my mood though, I think.

I love bright colors but I cannot pull them off when I wear them. They completely wash me out. My closet is all shades of black, gray, brown, beige, tan...the neutrals. I have a few tanks and stuff that I wear sometimes for a pop of color under black. I also tend to add pops of color to my hair and nails.

I am the same with scrapping. I am always drawn to the neutrals. I have a really hard time with bright colors, especially the primary colors.

love that you posted this, Jenn!!!! I have been noticing stuff about colors and how I have changed through the years and also noticing how I can wear some colors but can't scrap with them (or it takes me ages to like the page LOL)
and then colors I love for home decor and scrapping but don't wear them much......

Black, always black, for the past 20 years, and YES!!!!! YES!!!!!! to greys!!!!! I have a LOT of grey stuff!!!! I love adding a pop of color to my clothes though, so I may wear all black, but then add a colorful scarf or a necklace and bracelets and rings & earrings in tones of one color, I have a lot of bijouterie/accessories to match, keep them separated by colors in those little drawers from Ikea.
I have some colorful clothes that I wear in summer, and I dress completely different in England than I do when in South America...

For my scrapping, I also go through phases, but one thing I know: combining patterns, which I see a lot of you so talented to do it... is a frustration for me 9 out of 10 times!!!!!!

Maybe because I was on stage a lot and had to wear tons of make up, I have probably worn make up 5 or 6 times in the past 20 years!!!!! I do try when we have a big event like a wedding, but even so, I don't usually do full on make up, just very light...

yellow has been such a difficult color for me to scrap.... and rarely even have worn it in clothes, when I didx, it was combined with black or in very very light shades and only a cardigan or something small!!!
I'm with you with the versatility of digital!!!!

I almost had a heart attack with your love for yellow :imok :giggle
but as you say you decided you don't like yellow cars...I let you of the hook :rofl
when we are driving with Sarita and a yellow car shows up, we both go eeeeek at the same time !!!!!!!!!!!:rollin
I would love to have good nails for using polish, unfortunately, not the case, and when I wear false nails for an event, I choose the french manicure ones!

I love black and gray to wear and will paint my nails bright purple or something. I actually love color just not on my clothes. i think my current favorite color is mint green or lavender. That changes with my mood though, I think.

very very similar to you!!!! with me, not only changes with my mood but I have, along the years, changed taste ...I wouldn't wear navy or brown (and even more so blue and brown combined!!!) until my mid 30s, then I started to change and now, though still not happy to combine in clothes, I have used them a lot in scrapping
Love m y clothes black and grey in England, and (as I said to Jenn above) I like to cut with a pop of color , would love (once again) to have nice looking nails to wear polish!!!!!

Black purples blues greys browns for my closet.

Kits I like brighter colors versus pastels. I am always drawn to a kit that has purples. Hardly any oranges.

I love all colors and try to fit them in a rotation of sorts. If I scrap with primary colors today it may be neutrals or pastels tomorrow. The contrast keeps it all exciting. (BTW, love purple to scrap with)

With clothes, I wear a lot of black/grey and primary colors.

. . . I love yellow. My car is yellow though, and I decided that I don't really like yellow on a car. I've proclaimed all my future cars will be red or blue. . . .

Since yellow has been my favorite color for 3 decades, I've been thinking someday I would like a yellow car. I'm curious what you found you dislike about it.

I'm such a seasonal sucker LOL!! My clothes and layouts pretty much match the seasons. And jeans...that's pretty much all I wear, so denim is a favorite color, but grey is my all.time.favorite.color.

It's just too much yellow. Whenever something external needs to be replaced, it's nearly impossible to get since it has to be special ordered. Someone stole the mirror cover, so that has to be replaced. I took a turn too close & a door handle needs to be replaced. I've come to resent the color. I never have trouble finding it though.

I will keep that in mind! Thanks for the insight. :)
