I chose layout #2 - butterflies.
The cut out trees were a challenge. I placed all the trees, then grouped the ones on top of the paper columns and applied a cutout style. Then I clipped the background paper to the group. I'm sure there are easier ways, but this worked and I'm happy!!

Whilst it doesn't look anything like the original, I was inspired by No.4 by Kathy Kramer. It was the painted LOVE in a quad that inspired me, how it was layered with ephemera, and how the botanicals were on top and then the sentiment behind the page and the photo.
I came up with this! Totally my own but heavily inspired by that layout - thank you!
