I was thinking about the Christmas past challenge this weekend and some of my favorite Christmas memories. One in particular was when I was about 11 or so I guess. I had been really indecisive about what I wanted, but on Christmas Eve I decided there was nothing I wanted more than a Bubble Yum Baby (dating myself lol). I wrote a note to Santa telling him that I was sorry I hadn't mentioned it before, but I would love to have one if it was not too late. Christmas morning I got up, and there was the Bubble Yum Baby with my note rolled up and tucked under her arm! To this day, I'm not sure how Santa pulled that one off! I know there's a photo of it somewhere and I really need to find it and scrap it!

Do you have a magical Christmas story that you experienced or created for someone else? I'd love to hear some great Christmas memories!

Ohhh Jan... I would love to know how Santa pulled that off too!!

When I was little, I couldn't sleep on Christmas Eve. After everyone had gone to bed, I thought I heard rustling in the family room where the fireplace was. So, I snuck out of bed and into the hall to sneak a peek. Well, what I saw was the silhouette of an elf in the doorway to the family room!! I was so freaked out that Santa was going to see me out of bed and not leave presents, that I rushed back to my room and back into bed!! To this day, no one is really sure what I saw, we did have one of those 1970's inflatable Santas (think the punching bag shape with the rounded bottom) at that time, that might have gotten pushed into the doorway at some point that night. It was the right size and shape to look like an elf... but no one remembers it being in the doorway.

The year that Frozen came out, my daughter put one single thing on her Christmas list-- an Elsa dress. She had been Anna for Halloween, and we figured we'd just pop into our local Disney Store and pick one up. NOPE. We literally could not find one anywhere. We called every Disney Store within five hours of us and then began calling any Disney Store somewhat near people we knew (so they could pick it up and ship it to us). FINALLY, we found one at a random Disney Store who had gotten in one single dress in their shipment that just happened to be my daughter's size. Normally, the Disney Store will not ship to your house from a store, but this lady offered to and it got to us two days before Christmas. My daughter was ECSTATIC. She even wore it to meet Elsa a few months later.

oh Jan, that would make me believe for sure!! I hope you left extra cookies the next year!

I wanted a baby doll.. My Mom was in the store and found a doll that looked like a real baby... I am thinking it was called Thumbelina (but I called her Susie).. There was a knob on her back and you wound it up... her head would move and her eyes would open and close. By her head moving the whole body of the doll wriggled like a newborn. Anyway my Mom layed the doll on the counter as she went to look at other things and this woman was frantic thinking my Mom placed her baby on the counter and it was going to fall off. My Mom giggled and thank the lady telling her it was only a doll. I still have her packed away and her hair is a bit barren but I loved my "susie" LOL I found this photo of her on Ebay.. wow if mine was pristine she would be $240 now :) It was Thumbelina by "Ideal" . Loved/love this doll from the 1960's!!

What a fun story! Reminds me of the Christmas that I know I saw a red glow outside my window and swore it was Rudolph!

That's so great!! How awesome that you were able to find one in her exact size! Magical for sure!!

For sure!! This was like mid-late 70's! There were no 24-hour WalMarts or anything! We lived out in the country in a tiny little town with one red light and one store. To this day, my mom just says "Santa is magic" :)

That's so funny!! I love her!! My mom still has many of her dolls from the 40's/50's and most of mine from the 60's/70's. I'd love to take some time and go through them all one day!

@IntenseMagic Jan, I am going to have to scrap this with the advertisement picture here of "Snoozie" and take a photo of my Suzie :) and then journal the story!

I don't have any pictures of it, but his story is from when my youngest was 5. It was Christmas Eve, and her big present was still not in our house. We had ordered her an American Girl "Bitty Baby" doll with the wicker basket bassinet. I was getting anxious, but then around 6:00 pm, the UPS truck pulls up and honks his horn. He was carrying the big box that I was hoping for. I hurried to get it wrapped and Becky never saw the box until the next morning.

So glad Santa delivered in time!!! Donna - you should grab a picture of both a UPS truck and the American Girl Doll from the internet and document the story :)
