Christmas Countdown | Pad Patter 12/10

Do you feel ready?
No but that's mainly because I'm not even remotely feeling the Christmas spirit at all

Have you got all of your Christmas plans organised?
Nope, see above but truthfully we are waiting to see if my mum will have the Saturday before Christmas off work as that will ultimately dictate what we do with family and when

Any last minute gifts to get?
All of them but due to budget some of them may be combined gifts from my mum and I as we have some harder to buy for people in our family. The only gift I must get is for my mum and to be honest I'm not sure what she wants yet and she understands it might be after Christmas I find something for her.

We don't buy gifts. Our Christmas celebration is mainly eating. LOL Just scrapped a layout with photos from our Christmas Dinner last year:

Traditional Christmas dinner in Sweden is "Julbord" (literally Christmas Table) - a mix of many things. Since me and husband is vegetarians & my son is a carnivore ... I have a LOT of cooking to do. Hoping we can go and do our grocery shopping on Sunday. Then I have a week to prepare. Vegetarian & regular meat balls & sausages, potato gratin, potatoes, pickled beetroot, baked halloumi, different veggie dishes, and I hope to find a vegetarian "ham" in the store.

Other than eating, our only plan for Christmas is watching TV & relax.

I am not quite ready. I have most of the gifts purchased, except for my parents because they don't need or want anything, but I still want to get them something nice. I have a few ideas brewing though, that I hope I can pull off.

I also have some gifts that still need to be wrapped. I did about half of them, but then a bunch more arrived in the mail over the last week and I haven't had a minute at home to spend time wrapping. Oops!

I think our plans are all set now finally. My hubby's side of the family will come on Christmas Eve morning and then my family will come for Christmas day. Actually my sister's family will stay with us from about the 23rd until the 26th, so that'll be nice. :) Then we'll go visit our parents at some point.

I am not prepared at all. Bianca my daughter's birthday is the 23rd and I got her a bed set she wanted for her birthday I surely hope it makes it here in time for her birtrhday. Otherwise with all thats been happening lately in my life I am quite sure on money this year and I am not really in a festive mood. The kiddos are not getting much this holiday season. And with my grandmother's failing health I fear it may be her last which really has me down in the dumps.

I'm ready for Christmas. Not ready for the school break before Christmas. Lol!

Presents are bought and wrapped. Except 1 that we haven't decided whether to wrap or assemble and stick a bow on it.

Stockings have been prestuffed, so I know they are good.

Waiting for a gift to be delivered in Utah. It's been ordered, and shipped. Just waiting for the delivery.

And trying to decide if we are doing just cookies or more for neighbor gifts.

I'm so not ready. :lol2 We are traveling and I have a million things to get done before we leave. I thought I was done shopping but just thought of 2 more things I need to pick up today. Ah well, it'll all get done!

ditto re movies and fav foods!!

Mostly ready ... thankfully we go to my youngest sister's house for Christmas dinner so I only have to bring a side dish. All of my gifts are wrapped except for a few that are still en-route.

BUT ... I decided to make old-fashioned red mesh stockings for the "kids" ... 15 of them to be exact. I bought the stockings and stocking stuffers back in October, but I still need to design and print a header/topped to staple to the stockings AND stuff them. Similar to these ...

We still need to purchase a few gifts yet and I still need to wrap everything, so I'm not really ready yet, but I love wrapping so it's a treat for me. I always put on White Christmas & then Home Alone while wrapping, LOL. We are having family here on Christmas Eve so we have to make food to prepare for that, but my daughter is home and she is literally a chef, so that's a plus! You should see her knife skills. Just amazing! I will give the house a good clean a few days before. I'm really just trying to enjoy the little things since money was quite tight this year. I hope they like what we did get our kids and they aren't too disappointed that we cut back this year. I know their grandparents will be spoiling them a bit this year and overall, they each will be getting everything they had asked for, but the budget this year still makes me sad. Anyway, I hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season and enjoy all of your little blessings!

We've cut back on adult gifts this year which really helps although I still have to get DH something. I have all the grandkids presents but still have to wrap everything. It feels as though things are starting to come together! :tree

Do you feel ready?
Not at all. I’m kind of freaking out.

Have you got all of your Christmas plans organised?
Nope. Staying in town so thankfully don’t have to plan travel. We usually get together with my side of the family but haven’t heard a peep about it yet. I need to plan what to eat on Christmas…

Any last minute gifts to get?
Too many. I need to wrap more than I need to buy though. Wish me luck!
