    Hey ya'll -

I thought I'd share with you the link for the Washington, DC Cherry Blossom cam! (You can also download it on your phone or tablet - it's the Earth Cam app.)

    Here's the link: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/dc/cherryblossoms/?cam=washdc

There isn't much to see right now except gloomy skies, but by the end of the week when the blossoms are to be out it's sunny days. I'll try to go down on Thursday and get pics for everyone. It's my favorite time of the year!

ETA: They've changed the peak bloom dates - again. Now they're saying March 23-24 for the beginning of peak bloom. I'll continue to keep you posted!

I love cherry blossoms! I specifically found a park that had them when I got married to get some pictures. :) Thanks, Jan!

That's awesome! When DH and I loved close to DC, we used to go down for the festival. It's lovely to get another look this way! Thanks for sharing :)

Love this. I've always wanted to go to see them in person. We have quite a few around here in people's yards or businesses, but not in a concentrated spot. I also love the tulip trees (that aren't really tulips... but I don't know the name). Our neighbor across the street has a giant one, and I get pics of it every year.

Swoon. I love Spring (or pre-Spring). :giggle

That is soooo cool! I love glancing at our beach cams here for the same reason. There is just something so beautiful about nature no matter how we can see it. ♥

They have an interesting post on the cherry blossom watch page, comparing what the tidal basin looked like last year at this time (frozen!) and this year (obviously not frozen). We've had a crazy winter here, so I'm not surprised that they're coming out early. My tulips started coming out of the ground in January. EEk!

@QuiltyMom your tulips started coming up in January?! Oh dear! Mine started peeking up earlier this month, and even then I was worried.

Yes. And the daffodils. They said to just leave them alone, that by covering them with mulch or something would only cause them to come up even faster. So, I left them be and they didn't grow until the weather got warmer. They did okay in the blizzard, so they're hardy things!
