Here in the Chatty Pad, do you participate more when the question is more realistic, or do you like hypothetical unrealistic questions, or do you like both?

I love them all. Anyone who has been around here a while has probably noticed I tend to write a lot. I enjoy writing down my thoughts about lots of things, whether real or not. But I do think that different kinds of questions are more or less appropriate depending on the time and place, and, of course, personal preferences and mood. I've come across conversation starter questions that make me roll my eyes. I will entertain just about any though, at least briefly.

I love ones that have spin-offs, like do you use butter or oil, then some say oh no, applesauce only, or " Cottage cheese is a great substitute " (I don't know if that is real, but I hope you get the gist). I learn things, and that makes my brain happy. I love new ideas, techniques, and ways of living!

I also like to write, and so I'll answer any question if I can do so without being too negative. There's a phrase I try to adhere to: "Don't yuck someone else's yum!" So, I might tease all those coffee drinkers once in a while, but I totally understand the allure of any kind of yum...not just food related but lifestyles, reading material, scrapping styles...etc. I appreciate a hypothetical question...gets me thinkin'!

I never thought about, but I probably tend to go for the more real life ones more often; but I'm sure I've done some of the hypothetical ones too. Sometimes, I like the really whimsical, off-the-wall ones because they tend to be things I never thought about, knew about, or considered.

I like both, but I think I'm more inclined to answer the hypothetical questions (where would you rather live? what would you do with an extra $5000?). Then again, I often respond to the food questions (do you like ice cream? what do you eat for breakfast?), which are more realistic.

Do you listen to the podcast Stuff You Should Know, with Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant? I hadn't heard the phrase "Don't yuck someone's yum" before I heard them say it, and they've said it often so I thought maybe they made it up.

I answer both to be honest

I thought of this question when I worried I might annoy people with silly hypothetical questions. So far, it sounds like it's ok.

No, I don't know that podcast. I got it from a couple that host a keto community.

I'm open to either type of questions. I just don't like it when there's a whole list of questions to answer. I like to pop in, see what others think and answer a question or two and get on with my day. :blahblah :agree

I think it just comes down to what questions spark joy. Sometimes it's dreaming big but often it's just bonding over whether we should eat ice cream or not. (Currently in the "yes ice cream" camp; I may sneak out for a root beer float if the kiddo doesn't see me. Not because he'll want one but because he banished me to the bedroom to relax.)

I like both.
It's always fun to add my two cents and to read the responses.
Some of the questions have sparked amazing ideas.

I hear you. I'll just type fast when it's a list of questions, if it's a topic of interest. :giggle

I love them all and I especially love reading everyone else's answers :)

That's another question I wonder . . . I almost always answer before I read others' answers. I wonder how many do it like that and how many read first then reply.

:lol Whether we should eat ice cream? I can barely think of situation where that's a no.
