Are you a cereal fan? What's your favorite kind? Do you like name brand the best? Do you try those weird versions that come out? (Like Cinnamon Toast Churros or Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch or Cocoa Puffs Swiss Miss, etc.)

Inspired by having fruit loops - the malt-o-meal better than the original version- this morning.

Personally, I don't eat a lot of cereal. I don't like name brands for sugar coated ones because it makes the top of my mouth all rough and gross. Alas, so does captain crunch and that's my favorite cereal! But, cocoa puffs is growing on me.

My kid loves cereal some weeks, and doesn't care for it others. He adores all the weird mix-ups and likes to try them out. Luckily, there are usually some left on clearance after the holiday! My husband is a bigger cereal eater. If he's hungry after dinner, he'll default to a bowl of cereal about twice a week. But no cereal for breakfast for him. He'd rather oatmeal or eggs.

I grew up eating Rice Krispies. Dad was a Wheaties fan. These days I keep Special K with Strawberries in the house. I don't eat it often but there are some evenings when I just don't feel like cooking so I'll have a big old bowl of cereal.

I used to have a blend I bought from a bulk refilling store prior to going gluten free. Now I have three different gluten free cereals that I mix together as each cereal on its own isn’t great - let’s say gluten=structure!

I use this as my base

and add either GF muesli (it’s my fave)

Or GF Sultana Bran

I tried a few other options but didn’t love them enough to buy again. I have also got rice flakes for an oat/porridge replacement as the weather gets colder (In New Zealand we don’t have GF oats and I refuse to pay $16 for a small bag of “Gluten Friendly” oats from Australia)

I eat cereal a lot for dinner because working retail I have some weird hours. Sometimes I just don’t want to make anything for dinner for myself when I get home at ten at night. I like a mix of cereals from berry Special K to the not so good for me cereals like lucky charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, cocoa pebbles, honey smacks, honey combs. I usually buy what’s on sale

I love Bran Buds with my yogurt and blueberries but lately have trouble finding them so I have been doing store brand instant oatmeal with blueberries! Especially since it has been chilly the last week the hot oatmeal is wonderful

growing up I was a Cocoa Puffs, captain crunch, lucky charms or Frosted Flakes girl! I do like cheerios now too.

I grew up on cereal but try not to give my kids too much of it since there is so much sugar in most. We did indulge in Lucky Charms for St. Patrick's Day and they loved it. :)

I grew up eating cereal. Some favorites I remember are Golden Grahams and Lucky Charms.

But when I realized I feel better having a higher protein breakfast, and that cereal is often too sugary, I began eating eggs more often.

My kids did not grow up eating cereal. I buy a little of it, but it's snack food, not meals.

@littlekiwi Do you have Chex in New Zealand? I love corn and rice chex and the website says they are naturally gluten free?

I love honey nut cheerios!

This is so true! That's why there's still Christmas cereal hanging out in the cupboard.

I wasn't a big cereal eater as a kid, maybe that's why I'm not as an adult? Munchkin eats it when we are out of yogurt, he's not an oatmeal fan.

I snack on dry Life Cereal, but don't eat it with milk. We keep all kinds of cereal for the kids, though. They almost always have a bowl of cereal when they come to visit. They like Fruit Loops and other sweet cereals.

I love cereal...all different kinds! I don't really eat it for breakfast, but I like it for a snack and sometimes even dinner. Dry or with milk, either way. I think my very favorite is Golden Grahams, but I also love Raisin Bran and all the Captain Crunches. Dry Frosted flakes make for a great snack.

I used to love cereal but rarely eat it now...it just doesn't fill me up and I'm bad at eating bowls and bowls of it. My kids eat it once a week. They would rather have eggs, bacon, toast, pancakes, grits, etc. I guess it's better that way...healthier and cheaper.

Some of my faves growing up were Golden Grahams, Captain Crunch, and Cracklin Oat Bran.

I like cereal. Not every single day and usually I never want it for breakfast but more towards the evening. I'm currently on a rice krispies and chex kick. I've also been wanting to make some brown butter rice krispy treats...craving them so bad! lol

Not a fan of cereal, probably b/c I dislike milk. We sometimes had Cheerios for breakfast growing up, Mom put milk in the bowl, but I only had to drink/eat what milk got picked up in my spoon which was okay. Then one day my father made me drink the leftover sugary warm milk from the bowl ... that was the LAST time I ate cereal with milk. My mom was furious with my father.

My youngest GK won't drink milk or eat cereal, so I no longer buy it.
