Catching Up

I don't think that I will ever catch up.

However, this is my third year signing up for MOC and today was my first time finishing a challenge! AND I managed to complete four more too!

I'm pretty happy to have beat my past record of zero challenges completed (LOL) and I'm hoping to get a few more done before it's over.

That's awesome! Anything better than zero is a win in my book!

I know doubles make some people run away in fear!
But last night I completed two challenges in about 15 minutes more than 1 by doing a double. What takes me the longest is photos and kit picking. So, a double saved me that time since I used the same kit, and had the 'extra' photos ready for the second page.

That and being able to repeat paper placement are exactly why doing doubles is helping me catch up, too. On some of my doubles I'm even using the same template and just rotating or flipping it for the second page.

Woo! Last year, I was in town all month and only got behind by a weekday twice, and was able to catch up over that weekend. This year, I was gone for 4 days and with packing etc. I got 5 days behind. ACK! As of today, I'm all caught up! So I'm trying to decide how much longer to stay up and wait for challenge #21. :ballbounce:happyclap

i'm enjoying being only 3 behind now (for the minute, before day 21 is announced - i can't believe it's Jan 21 already)

I'm four behind, which is a little stressful, especially because those four are the ones that I've started but just aren't "flowing." HOWEVER! This is my first MOC, and I've already made 17 layouts (wow!). I am also the type of scrapper who could take WEEKS to finish a page (not continuously, but getting hung up on decisions and needing to put the layout away and come back to it), and now I've made 17 layouts in 21 days (wow!) (actually I've made 20 layouts, but three were for my 2017 Faves project and didn't use Lilypad products so I can't use them here).

I have gotten to experiment with different techniques and different styles - I've been curious about clean & simple for a long time - and have been focusing my MOC layouts on documenting 2016, which was up until now completely undocumented.

Something unexpected has happened, though, which is that being on the computer is starting to put me in a bad mood. I am trying to get some design work done, as well, so between that and MOC it feels like every moment of free time I have I am in Photoshop. It's stopped being fun and feels more like a slog. So I'm starting to think that maybe it would be better to let go of finishing all 31 and give myself some breathing room so it can feel fun again. Has anyone else had an experience like this? How did you address it?

I don't design, but I do have online school.
I take a day off. Usually, Sundays are my non computer day. Yesterday I was bored, so I did get on and scrap.
I also evaluate what part is making me annoyed/upset/grouchy. I found it was the feeling I needed to respond to everything happening online - Facebook, email, chats. So, I changed those around so they work for me, not against me.

And I bought a new chair. Because when your back hurts, and you feel cramped, it's hard to sit long!
