So, this morning I updated my MacBook Pro to the latest OS, Catalina. Now I'm in quite a pickle. My old and previously reliable Save for Web action no longer works. When I try to upload to the gallery, I'm getting messages that my layout is too big even though I know it's not. Then I installed FDD free Save for Web action, and I got the same warning. This is bad! I then tried to save without the actions, and I still can't upload to the gallery. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
I haven’t upgraded yet for just this reason. Everything is working perfectly and I don’t want to mess with it! I wish I had some advice for you.
I haven't taken the plunge yet but I know I have quite a list of software that won't be supported because it's not 64B. Depending on your version of PS could that be the problem?
On Windows: file, export, save for web (legacy). I wonder what's causing the issue? I know @kimingvtx said she had to save as a gif file. I don't know if it's because of an upgrade, but that might work for you?
Courtney, @bestcee, that's the part that's not working. The save for web (legacy). That's when I get the safe for web error message.
Well I'm not a Mac girl so don't know if this will work but maybe worth a try. I learned to duplicate my original full-size jpeg and rename it name_web. Then resize the image to 3 x 3 inches with a resolution of 180 or so. Then just do a "save as" jpeg and adjust the slider until a number (indicating size) under 250 comes up at the bottom -- usually this happens at about 9 (high resolution) but sometimes I have to go to 8 and occasionally but rarely to a 7. Hope that helps. Give it a try.
I'm not on mac either but I'd give patsy's method a go, given its MOC & the need to get things done and uploaded quickly & frequently, KWIM?! If it works for now, it's better than nothing!
I have the same issue sind the last OS update. I googled and tried all suggested solution but nothing works. I use just my image processor pro script to save my stuff Nicole | NBK-Design
I'm not having that issue, but since "upgrading" (right!) to Catalina on my iMac, my PSCC crashes at least once with every project. I've learned to save every few steps, AND have to admit, after force-quitting and rebooting, the abandoned project shows up as a rescued document, and is always the same as it was when I force quit. It is just irritating to have to force quit and reboot so often. And now Bridge is running REAL slow...wheel of death spins and spins, but if I wait long enough, it continues on. I send a report in every time, so they've been bombarded by me. But on my last project, same ol' thing. Apple is better than this, isn't it????????? It USED to be!
I don't know if this page at Adobe is of any help it details compatibilities and known issues/fixes: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-and-macos-catalina.html It's been known for some time that this OS update would cause issues and that big changes would be needed for some software. I've only got PSC6 and that's been unreliable for a while so I've switched to Affinity. I hope that won't give me any trouble when I upgrade.
I think I solved the problem with lots of help from my scrapping friends - I uninstalled and reinstalled PSCC and the save for web action and all seems to be fixed! Thanks to all of you for all the suggestions! Love you all! glad I didn't have to do this -
I had this same issue! There is a very simple fix to this. Just delete the 2019 icon from your dock, open the new updated 2020 version from the CC thingy at the top of your screen and clip that to your dock. The old version had trouble with save for web, the new version is working perfectly again. And no loss of my style settings. Pfew! I’m always scared of updates because they usually mess with my styles.
Yes, I’m sure I’ll spend most of today reloading all my actions and styles. But I’m so happy it’s working!
