I can't wait to Scrap, Though, I will have to wait for the New Year as I am New here and no money to buy kits from all you wonderful Designers until after the New Year and all Christmas debt is paid off:(, But, as soon as I do, I will jump right into the Challenges and play along:)
 
If you check all the designers to see if they have blogs/newsletters you can get freebies that way! That should get you started!

Yes, Barbara/sokee's idea is a great one. There's a freebie section in the store too! And ... with the Month of Challenges starting Jan 1st ... it is the perfect time to get started!!!
 
Can we use kits that are freebies, that are not sold in the store for Challenges? Or do they have to be sold in the store?
 
Yes, I have been here barely a week and I started out having only about 2 kits from any TLP designers but then I discovered the freebies and I've completed 4 December challenges! :D
 
I think you can use anything from current designers in the store, even if it's not for sale anymore? Someone let me know if that's wrong!! @lmccandless ??? Definitely check out the freebies and maybe grab a thing or two when you can? The BYOC is a great place to start when you can afford to buy something because it all coordinates together so perfectly :) I am another on a SUPER limited scrap budget so I know how you feel!!!
 
I believe Crystal is right. Challenge guidelines are posted at the top of each challenge thread. If you are totally speedy, you can still make all the December challenges, or enough to get a coupon! But I think it's 75% TLP product, which means product (new or old) from now current designers. :D If you've followed any of our newcomer designers from previous stores, eventually, their product will count also, but January challenges are a little different, in that it must be current-in-the-store product. So... for January, you'd need some goodies from the store. But for all other months, I think you're good. If that makes sense....
Definitely get in on the newsletter action, because extra coupons and freebies are waaaaaaay fun. :) the freebie section mentioned in the store... AND, tomorrow is SOSN - which is "something old something new", and there'll be a section in the store with 50% off stuff! (the most discount you can get here at the pad!) (SOSN happens every Wednesday) :)

First: welcome!
Second: you might have more then you know. Some TLP designers are part of the Digi Scrap Parade. There have been many hops or other events where you could collect a full collab. I use to go all over the digiworld to jump on those trains and hops.
And then there is my experience with chats: many times, you'll get a little something if you come and/or scrap a layout (if it's a slow or speed scrap chat). So come chat and scrap tomorrow!
 
well, I think I already welcomed you in another threadI see everyone has given you lots of pointers, to me, the SOSN (Something Old Something New, 50% Of , half price on Wednesdays,) was what built my stash in no time .... can't wait to see your pages!!!!!!!! :heartlub:heartlub:heartlub
