@bbymks5 I am totally impressed with how you have progressed and owned Photoshop. And only since January? OMG! I've been doing digital pages since June 2006, so it is hard for me to remember what it was like, but the proof is in my early layouts. But I refuse to re-do them. They are an indicator of how my style has developed over time.

Your enthusiasm is a delight. :-) And your sense of balance and color and style are obviously something that you excel in, whether dealing in Photoshop or not.

I've been digiscrapping for years! First with Creative Memories Storybook then Photoshop Elements and now with Photoshop. I'm feel like I'm still faking it! :) I learn something new everytime I watch Cheryl scrap or do a technique slow scrap. But one of my Strength Quest strengths is being a learner! So I love learning new things to do with digiscrapping. When I switched from Storybook to PSE and didn't know about the Lilypad, I also took some of Linda Sattgast's classes.

I'm still always learning. At times, I feel like my style is too simple and I get jealous of people that can cluster and layer and everything. )=

I remember that 1st page Timmi and how cute Anne was about wanting to help you. You've come a long way baby!

And I just have to say every time I see the title for this thread ... I think it's a post about someone needing help coming up for a title for their page?! LO

I love your pages Kim! It takes skill to pull off a clean and simple page. I will tell you that Cheryl's Dressed Up templates are perfect if you want to learn how to cluster. My clustering has improved a thousand times since I started using her templates. Plus, shadow as you go. It really helps it look better and then you don't give up too soon.

WoW! Some how that passed by me, I didn't realize you were brand new during MOC either! My very first challenge I did digitally it was at 2 peas. The date tells me it was posted on Jan 3 of 2009. I remember I had NO IDEA how to merge and when I posted for help there they also were nice enough to tell me how to do it. I had PSE5? At the time.

the second layout I did with this same template, I was making sure I knew how to merge. And somebody there was nice enough to tell me how to duplicate too when you are doing a merge project like this, as you can see mine was off.

at this time I had no idea how to do shadows either. If the template didn't have a shadow or the element It was left. So I had very 'flat' layouts. Took me some time to ask for some more help, It was Vinnie Pearce that came to my rescue many times. She was so nice about messaging me and teaching me how to do something new. This was back when she had her own store and that was the main place I hung out and really learned how to digital scrapbook.

I try, believe me, I just feel like I am stuck in my ways. Eventually I'll take the time to learn. Haha

    Definitely my favorite place!!

I started out using the Project Life app, and wasn't happy with how plain and boring the pages were; then I learned you could export your pages and bring them into other apps to add elements and stuff, but still wasn't happy...I usually don't take enough photos to fill all of the pockets so I felt forced to use them just to fill up them up LOL! Then I learned about MOC5 and said "got for it" but was still using my phone, but I'm go glad I did!

Me too!! My problem is, I love everything about people layouts that I can't just call one or two things out to be super specific LOL!

I will not lie...tears were shed during MOC5 LOL!! Hubby would come over and try to help, but he usually just made things worse, but he tried to help! He does minimal photo touch-ups in Lightroom and that's it, he knows about as much as I do in PS which is just enough to be dangerous ROFL!!

I've rescrapped some photos because I wasn't happy with the first go LOL!

I feel like it's a lot of winging it when it comes to style LOL!! I don't know what mine is??

I love watching Cheryl scrap!! I love learning new things too which helps a lot, but I'm go glad I'm not the only fake it till you make it gal!!

I wish I could pull off more of the clean and simple pages!! I never feel like I have the right kind of photos for that look! I can't explain it "right photo" but mine never seem to be it LOL!

    That page was something ROFL!!

Finding a title for pages is real struggle of mine too, so it could happen again LOL!

    YAS!!

Your first couple of pages beat mine by a long shot!! You had real papers!! And I LOVE the split photo on the second one using the strips!! Split photos are one of my all time favorite things to do!

I still struggle with shadows...I love the way they look when people duplicate them as a layer on their own and tweak them, I've tried that technique and I just don't get how to make them look realistic...I get a little crazy carried away LOL

Yes I hear you, I'm not the best with shadows either. I just need to sit down one day with some you tubes and practice, practice, practice, till It is set in my brain.
I do shadows but have never done separate layers yet. In January I just upgraded to a PSE that has that ability. But I still haven't taken the time to learn. Like a warp shadow. I would really LOVE to learn how to do that!

and I get jealous of people like you who can do C&S so wonderfully!!!! Like someone said in the thread : It takes talent to pull a great C&S page. In my experience, it is easier to make a good page with lots of stuff..... but for clean & simple? you have to make the formula work for it to be impressive, you need an amazing photo, and LOTS of talent to choose the right paper and elements!!!!!!

LOL I thought the same!!!!!!! was coming determined to help her title the page!!!!:giggle

    YES. to all.

Absolutely!!!!! especially with YOU!!!!!!!!!!! not only nothing wrong, but all of most AWESOME!!!!!!!
I remember scraplifting a page of yours for one of the challenges.... BLISS!!!!!!!
