Candy coma | pad patter 2.17.17

My Honey came home from the store on Valentine's Day with a heart shaped tin of Dove chocolates. I'm so hooked on Dove chocolates! And they have come out with a truffle like candy for Easter that we had to get and try. They call it Milk Chocolate with Cream Center. Died and gone to heaven good stuff!! I bought candy for Christmas and filled a big bowl of it thinking we'd share it with all the company that came to see us. Hardly anyone came. It's still sitting here. Sigh....I'm thinking it might be best to just throw it away now. Maybe. Ya think? I mean it's almost March now.

I don't know why I read this thread. Now I want every candy mentioned! Only my first grader brought home a bunch of candy, and she likes it as much as I do so I haven't seen any of it. I'm trying to buy fruit instead of candy but it's driving me crazy haha

Both of my kids got tons of candy for Valentine's Day but one is 2 1/2yo and has the memory of a gnat & one is 7 and forgets something exists as soon as it's out of her eyesight. It's all sitting in the cabinet, and I'll throw out whatever's left after this three day weekend and they'll be none the wiser.

I give their Halloween candy a week, too, after I pick out all the candy I like. :yesss

However, it is now Easter candy time, and my downfall is Hershey eggs (no wrapper, green bag) because I could legit eat one bag in a sitting. Hopefully I will keep it to a bag a week. Pray for my candy-lovin' soul, y'all. :P

You go girl! I wish I had will power like you. I have a candy stash and a chip stash too! I seriously need an intervention! :helpy:sense LOL
@keepscrappin I was skeptical about doing a keto diet but hearing how Leah (Mommyish) and some of the others have done I decided to try it. I was a low carber before but this is a bit different than Atkins. I can see now why there is great success on it b/c it curbs appetite and hunger cravings (at least for me it does). I held a piece of cheesecake in my hand and had no urge to eat it.

My favorites are really Godiva chocolates, but those are so darn pricey! I used to buy them, but ever since I had my son, I've got better things to do with my money.

Do you have a Godiva store near you? If you do, enroll in their rewards program. You get one free piece of chocolate per month! I used to go in all of the time for mine (there's one by our church)... I had to go alone though or I would be buying a piece for each of the kids as well. Now it looks like you have to be an active customer to take part in it. But they define that as just making $10 worth of purchases during a 12 month period.

Tracie, I hope that Clara is healing quickly!

She's doing well! We just got back from taking a little walk to pick up lunch.

I have probably two or three near me, with the closest maybe 4 miles. I THINK I can handle $10 during a 12-month period. LOL Thank you for the info!

Glad to hear Clara is doing well!

Speaking of cheesecake. We went to Cheesecake Factory for Aspen's birthday and I came home with the snickers cheesecake. It's so yummy, but not good because the next day I ate all of my piece and part of Aspen's too! Seriously, what is wrong with me... I've got the worst sweet tooth EVER! I need to go google the keto diet and get on it before I swell up like a balloon!

@keepscrappin Kayla...that is my problem too. I have no willpower...no "off switch" when it comes to indulging, whether its sugars or starches. So if I eat either it seems to start up the cycle of hunger, cravings and irritability about eating.

Surprisingly, we didn't have any valentines candy. But my kids had their usual treats this week, which I picked up in my weekly grocery trip, so they weren't deprived. And tomorrow we are attending a birthday party, so I think there will be cake. :)

This tread is da bomb!! I adore chocolate...seriously one of these days it will be Death by Chocolate!!

The hubby brought me a bag of Dove chocolates for valentines day. Yum

To make up for our lack of Valentine's candy... my husband and daughter took a walk and came back with Smallcakes. They brought me a Boston Cream cupcake.... yum!

I don't know about you, but there's so much candy at my house that we're all in a candy coma. Everywhere I turn there's more candy! I feel like Valentine's Day was more like Halloween! My daughter got asked to prom and he gave her a ton of candy. Then my other daughter got a ton of candy from the Valentine exchange at school. And I bought them some candy for Valentine's Day, so if you need any candy come to my house… Hehe Seriously it feels like a candy store in here. And the worst part is that since I'm the one that's home all day I keep eating it! I think it's time for an intervention and I just need to go around and gather it all up and throw it in the trash! If I don't, it's gonna to end up on my hips!

How about you, is your house over ridden with valentine candy?
both kids got a block of chocolate each but mostly stationery stuff and a toy - i got a square of choc from DH (yes one square from one of his blocks) b/cos we dont really do V day and yeah, more than that and i'd have been like you 'its too much!' and i'd have to eat it all to get rid of it!

Thank goodness no! I am happy about it! I just threw away the halloween candy not too long ago.
