BTS DaY?

I have a question!! It's something I wondered about often when I see back to school layouts appearing in the galleries and Jacque talking about jeans made me curious! Do your children wear school uniforms?

They do over here (UK) - my son will be starting Reception (first year of full time school, he's 4) and will be in proper big boys' school uniform for the first time!

in Germany they don`t but I like the idea of the school uniforms and i think they look super cute too

The public schools here do not have uniforms. However, two of my children go to a Charter School (which is a publicly funded school, but one that can make their own rules) and they do wear uniforms. I have to say I like it for the ease of getting ready in the morning and that the kids don't feel pressured to wear what their friends are wearing, but they are expensive and the kids tire of them eventually. So it's good and bad.

Mine start back on August 30 and they will all be in high school. :(

My son is on the varsity football team and they start practices on Thursday the 12th.

My kids don't wear uniforms either. But, they do have a dress code they have to follow.

hmmm - i *think* my daughter starts september 13th or something like that ... it's a new preschool in town, i need to figure out the schedule! hahaha ... and last year my daughter's preschool had a uniform - i loved it bc it was SO easy in the mornings ... this year she won't have a uniform and she's already such a fashionista that i'm scared! LOL!

DS starts kindergarten on August 23rd, I believe. I am so not ready for it. But I know it will be good for him. We haven't really done any shopping, he has what he needs already although I did pick up a few supplies that were included on his list from the school.

We're all done with school...and I'm sooooo happy! Eric's at community college and I know that it starts soon and I still have to order his books from Chegg, but I haven't even looked into it. I'm so bad!

The neighbor kids all start today. I think any time in August is way too early. We haven't even had a summer. It's been so cool all July and August so far. Not normal at all. Now that they are going back, we'll be getting our 100 degree weather I'm sure!

My oldest son has been visiting us this last week from Texas. I took him shopping (I always do that when he comes) and the malls weren't really packed at all. We went into Old Navy and got him some sweatshirts...not crowded at all. Shopped at Macy's and they still had a great selection. I was expecting everything to be all picked over and nothing left. I bet if I went over to Target or Walmart it would've been packed though!

Laura...I love the idea of the Bento boxes. I would be doing that if I had little ones. I want some for me too!

How did I not see that the jeans were on sale at Old Navy? What world was I in?

I'm going back there today...my boys are all in adult sizes, but I know a few of my boys could use some new pairs. For $15 a pair, I've got to stop there on our way out to the airport.

Ours go back to school around here on Sept. 7 as well - it does seem early, but seeing that we have such a short window of summer here in Michigan - it's good for me!

I'm with MandaKay! Michigan has such a short summer normally. I don't mind going back late... weather doesn't get nice for summer here until the end of June anyway.

I do not have it down to the days, hours, minutes, or seconds - but I am very much looking forward to the first day of school on September 7.

Open houses, Band Practice, XC practice, and even a few XC meets fill our time until that glorious day!

Em starts on the 23rd (just shy of 2 weeks away( and then Camden will start preschool 3 days a week on Sept 1. It's going to be a bit surreal for me. I've never been a SAHM with kids in school, but i'm looking sooooo forward to it. i'm envisioning all the things i'll be able to accomplish.

In our area, only kids in private schools wear uniforms. :)

2 weeks until Ella starts kindergarten. Wow!

The boys will be going to preschool for 2 hours each Tuesday, so I'll have about 1.5 hours on Tuesday to myself, completely quiet house. Should be interesting!
