Has anyone else been hit by the computer weirdness going on in the world today? There was some glitch with a security update with windows computers that has taken down computers across the world! I got to work this morning and have the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) and I can’t do much of anything related to my job without my computer. So we are all wandering around trying to find things to do without our computers until our IT department can get us back up and running.

Here’s a related news article:

I guess I’ll go read my book on my phone while I wait. :giggle

I haven't even tried though my computer isnt on a network or anything. It hit mid afternoon here and stopped virtually everything (banks, electronic payments at stores, the local library also went down - that's just some of what I know locally). Hopefully though when I wake up in a few hours all will be solved as I've got a lot to do online....might be wishful thinking.

Nope! But then I am retired and my computer doesn't use the software that caused the problem since it is for business use.

But I know someone that had a flight this morning and she posted that she told the airline clerk it was her fault since she always had bad luck with flights! The clerk laughed and told her it wasn't her fault.

my BIL just flew home yesterday for a business trip. He’s pretty happy he got home!

our IT guys say they already have a fix, but it’s going to take some time to push it through to all our computers. Hopefully all will be fixed by tomorrow!

My friend posted this...

….and to think we were a bit peeved about the 90 minute delay on our flight from Amsterdam yesterday. I can’t imagine how the airline travelers are coping today. We are so lucky to have missed this world wide conundrum (for the most part.)
My husband has two prescriptions that are out and has had no luck trying to contact Costco.

No issues here, but I've been of the computer most of the day. I really feel for all those trying to travel!

No issues here (minus my son not being able to game all day). We actually benefited from the outage because we went to Starbucks and they couldn’t accept payments so we got our drink free.

I haven't had any issues.

I'm soooo thankful we got home from our trip to Hawaii on Tuesday.

I mean there are worse places to get stuck. :giggle (except I guess it would have been at the airport, so not that fun either). Lol.

Glad you missed it for the traveling portion at least! Stinks that he has empty prescriptions and couldn't get them filled. Hopefully that's all sorted now!

Glad you had no issues! :agree

Yahoo for a free drink! :)

Oh yeah, this was a total wreck from a media outlet perspective. We had some fun with it though..and were nearly back to normal by the end of the day. Here's a fun article about some of the ways we had to adapt: https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/deserves-credit-handling-global-tech-outage.html

Oh my gosh! I cannot even imagine figuring out how to do television without all of the technology they usually use. Resorting to the white board is awesome!
