I am almost finished with the Sookie Stackhouse books and I am looking for something new to read. So what are you reading? Got anything to recommend?

These are some of my favorites:

The Time Traveler's Wife
The Secret Life of Bees
My Sister's Keeper
The Pact

Anything by Jodi Picoult actually

i just finished reading all her books!! loved them all

I just finished the Sookie Stackhouse books last week, too :) I got a couple of recommendations on my Facebook page for similar series, but right now I'm reading these J.R. Ward "Black Dagger Brotherhood" books and ... they're sort of like soft porn. LOL Not really what I was looking for but once I start a series I usually wind up finishing it because I'm OCD that way. I'll read anything .. haha. I wanted a series sort of like the Charlaine Harris books, and these are more dark and cold.

I love love LOVED The Time Traveler's Wife, and also Water for Elephants by Sarah Gruen was just ... spectacular really. I didn't expect I'd like it. I also recently read American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld and I loved it. If you haven't read Emily Giffen's books yet I recommend all of them as light reads.

Do you belong to GoodReads.com? I build my "to read" list from there all the time. I don't know when I figure I'll read all those books (especially since I add them faster than i read them a lot of times) but I'll get to them at some point.

Peppermint, I just ordered Water for Elephants from Amazon today. The title intrigued me and I was interested in the synopsis. Now that I know you liked it, I can't wait to read it.

ive read alot of jodi picoult but some i think get a bit tedious and repetative so bored of hers now at the minute im on the last of twilight breaking dawn and i love them dunno what im gonna do when ive finished ill be needing recomendations

Thanks girls! Keep them coming. I have read Time Traveler's Wife, Secret Life of Bees and Water for Elephants. They are all wonderful.

Karen - you should pick up the Sookie books next. They are a bit cheesy, but they get you hooked too. Especially the closer you get to the end. I will be anxiously awaiting the next book.

Off to check out the suggestions, keep them coming ladies.

I am really into the Diana Gabaldon Outlander Series and am on the second to last book! I am HOOKED!

I've only read "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult and I felt the same way! I've heard from others that some of her other books are better, so I'm willing to give her another chance, LOL.

A very oldie but a very goodie!!!!!!!! The Yearling
It is set in Florida very close to where I live, so that made it even more enjoyable to read!

Lisa, I'd try Charlaine Harris' other series too, the Harper Connelly mysteries. Quick reads but fun. :)
