I can't believe it's time for another suggestion thread already! Yahoo!

We have a fun informal book club here at The Lilypad and it's open to anyone and everyone who likes to read! :clap For this thread we are looking for suggestions for what to read together over the next four months.

    Each person can suggest
one book one book one book one book.
In order to give lots of people a change to make a suggestion, let's stick to one suggestion per person to start. :agree

When I do the voting poll, I can only have 10 selections in the poll, so one book suggestion per person lets more people give suggestions each time. I will leave this thread open until Feb 26th or until we get 10 suggestions. Then I will open up a voting poll.

Once we vote, I'll start a new thread for each of the four top books... one per month, for the next four months starting in April. You can see the complete list of our old picks in our Master Reading List. You can read the books in any order and at any time. If you want to chat about the books, just reply to that thread. Easy peasy! :agree

So.... what should we read together next?

    1. Mudbound by Hillary Jordan
    2. The Women by Kristin Hannah
    3. Maybe Next Time by Cesca Major
    4. The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
    5. The Memory Chamber by Holly Cave
    6. Godkiller by Hannah Kaner
    7. These Is My Words by Nancy E Turner
    8. One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot by Marianne Cronin
    9.
    10.

I usually follow up starting this thread with a suggestion of my own, but of course I can't decide between two different books that I want to recommend. :rofl I'll be back shortly with a suggestion.

I am new to this thread, though I love reading, and having looked at the suggestions pleased to say I have read a quarter of them, and incredibly excited to look through them one by one to pick a new one, since I am about to finish the Seven sisters soon. :) Do you have to justify in any way your recommendation to the to-read list?

I am a Kristin Hannah fan. I'm excited to read her new release so I will vote for The Women

Nope! You can recommend anything you like. Once we have 10 books on the suggestions list, we all vote on that list. The top four vote getters are the next books we read together! :agree

I think this one sounds great too! As soon as I saw it was coming out, I added to my hold list. It wasn't even released yet and I'm already #93 on the list. :giggle Great pick though!

This is my all time favourite book, a classic, and I haven't reread it in a while, but also because it's a classic of the Russian literature, you might have missed it, I thoroughly recommend it :heartlub Among other things it's a beautiful love story, and it is the time for mimosa very soon, so a perfect time to read it if there is such a thing. I am told that this is a good translation, which of course is an issue for any foreign book.

i really liked this- it was a good british audio as well (although i think my cover was different so i don't know if that changes the narration etc as well)
ETA: my blurb was different as well - i think this blurb's actually better lol so adding it here in case it helps sway the vote inform decisions Capture-altcover.JPG

My question should have been does it have to be a new book? since I am recommending the book as old as... my husband?

Nope! Doesn't have to be new or old and fiction of non-fiction. Anything goes here! I love hearing of books that I never would have known about too, so this is a great pick! I've added it to my own to-read list already! :agree

I did mean to add yesterday that i like the way you've stressed this with colour - i chose a book that was grey and yellow, hopefully that is allowed too and not that we were meant to choose pink, blue, green or orange covers, there is an alternate cover that is more orangey
