My family loves to play games. There are some of us that prefer the social games like Outburst, Telestrations, Wits and Wagers and the like. There are some of us that really like the strategic games with favorites such as Splendor, Feast of Odin, Settlers etc. Then there are the in between like the Azul's. Calico, Cascadia, Wingspan. We also just like good old card games like Pinochle, Skipbo, and Oh Heck.
So with that being said, I am always on the look out for new games.
    • What kind of games do you play?
    • Any suggestions?
    • What's you must have/go to game to play?

We love a good games night in our house. We don't own many and need to add to our collection but we love Ticket to Ride and Uno.

We went to a games café a few months ago, coffee and lots of board / card games to play. We played Expeditions Around the World while at the café and loved it.

    • What kind of games do you play? We love monopoly, life, pictionary, UNO (various versions) and many more.
    • Any suggestions? Sleeping Queens. We won a school raffle last summer and won a basket of games. One of which was Sleeping Queens, it was created by a 6 year old. It's so fun!
    • What's you must have/go to game to play? UNO, it's quick and fun!

I've seen these around, but never tried one. I'll have to do that someday. I think the game you played sounds fun too!

We love to play games at our house - card, dice and board games. Over the Christmas break we played card games.
DD gave us Nertz - it's fun and fast paced.
    Skyjo
    Five Crowns
    Cover Your Assets
    Skull King

Last year we played a board game called Camel Up that my nephew brought over and it was fun. I added it to my amazon wishlist but didn't get it yet.

    We also like to play:
    Quixx - dice game
    rummikub - tile game
    sequence - board/card game
    rack-o card game

Not really a board game, but we love LCR (Left Center Right) at our house. We usually swap out the chips for quarters or even dollar bills sometimes. It gets pretty intense lol.
My son's favorite is any Trivial Pursuit, probably because he always wins.
I really love a good game of Spades.

We play often when I am with my family in France.

    We love Uno.

Also a kind of domino game called Chromino with colors.
I think this one is our favourite because we can bring the bag on a trip.
We don't count points but we do enjoy making hard connections. Sometimes the board can get pretty big on the table lol

    And also Triomino

Not sure it counts as a board game but we love Mexican Train Dominos. It's a perfect balance of luck and skill.

I will have to check some of these out. We like to play some card games like Skull King and Cover your Assets. We just got Ticket to Ride for Christmas and have played it twice so far. I think we will enjoy it too.

I love all of these and we have them all. Camel Up is fun!
We had this growing up and loved it, I'll have to see if I track one down for my family now.
It counts and we have it!
Love Scattergories, believe it or not, we don't own Scrabble!

My family plays a lot of games too. We loved Telestrations several years ago. Last year's favorite may have been Here To Slay. My personal all time favorite, however, is Scattergories.

I just saw you don't own Scrabble. That's another one of my lifetime favorites! So much so that I tolerate the awful app Words With Friends (too flashy and pushy about playing with digital opponents) so I can play a little Scrabble every day. The only one in my family who happily plays Scrabble is my husband, so we don't play it often.

We recently played a new to me game for a work party that was surprisingly fun. It's a trivia game, but a really easy one. There are four easy trivia questions and then you have to figure out the link between the four answers. You can work in teams or alone. We did teams and did really well. I bought it and we played it with our kids on Christmas, but they were a little young for a lot of the trivia questions. They called us all boomers for knowing all the answers. :giggle Anyway, it's called Linkee and was really fun for the adults.

I get together with my parents and one sister weekly to play Sets and Runs (our favourite), and Saskatchewan Rummy (both are card games). At home we like to play Exploding Kittens (we have several versions) and Bears vs Babies. We also play UNO and Ligretto (a very fast-paced card game). Our boys like What do you Meme but we have the adult version that is definitely NSFW. Our all-time favourite board game is Ratrace, from the mid 1970s (I played as a young girl). The board is English on one side and French on the other, so I am assuming this is a Canadian game. You can still get a copy on eBay.

    • What kind of games do you play? Usually quick card games
    • Any suggestions? We just got Shifting Stones for Christmas and I like it. It’s a little luck and a little skill and not too long.
    • What's you must have/go to game to play? UNO or four down

Do you play Cribbage? There is a variation of that called "Crib Wars". We play frustration (have a wooden rule board with pegs for keeping track of scoring) and we've started playing Stix (a variation of the frustration game with different melds on popsicle sticks, each player draws a stick and works towards completing that meld so they can move onto a new stick the next round).

Love these types of games...just ordered it on Amazon

Love all card games. I'm assuming I can look up rules for these two online? Never heard of Ratrace.
I'm always on the look out for games that have more than 4 players. This looks fun.
We do play Cribbage! I'll have to look up these variations!
    Thanks everyone!

I tried looking them up, but couldn't find the rules like we play them! Looks like there are many card games with the same names. :)
