Sara, I only use Blurb... I am very happy with them.. have been using them since 2012... They are awesome. I have done 12 x 12 books for myself - 3 now, I did 3 8 1/2 X 11 as gift books and I did a 6x 6.. the 6x6 was the one I did in 2012 and I wouldn't recommend that anymore as it is smaller and asyou get older you don't see the writing as well! LOL I have had excellent service with Blurb, once on a wedding book I had a creased page, and I called them and other than my having to send them a photo of the bad page, they sent me a new book with 3 day mail expedited and I didn't have to send back the original. I gave the reprint to my friend the bride and gave her sister the one with the crease :) They really are awesome. I always get the hardcover wrap with the best paper.. comes out like awesome!!

@cfile Christa, do you remember if they did 50% off last year, and the year before? I wonder if I can count on them to repeat it. I used the 40% discount they offered just prior to this deal to make my annual album. I wish I'd waited just a few days to order my book! But I thought 40% was as high as they'd ever gone. I actually changed my printing routine a few years ago so I could make use of their highest discount of the year. My annual albums reflect my personal years. Conveniently, my birthday is Nov. 22. So I just ordered my "Year 46" album. :D

I've been printing with Blurb since 2008, before they even had 12x12. I used to make 8x10 pages because I found their book quality and prices the best. My first album printed at Blurb was all about my middle child's first two years of life. And my first two Project 365's, 2009 and 2010, are printed in 8x10 Blurb books. It's a nice size for the shelf, but I am much happier with 12x12 and so glad they offer that now. They don't stick out of my bookcase too far.

Thanks, Christa, for all the info! I know I'm not going to be ready to print an album during this sale, but hopefully I'm ready for the next one. :)

Oh good. That makes me feel better about assuming 40% was the highest I was going to get. Tricky though. I probably will want to use the 40% off next November too because how will I know if they're going to offer 50%. :P

check throughout the year... If you just did the 40% and they came out with 50% right after your order went in, call C/S.. they may do something.. worse that they can do is nothing more right?

Thank you so much! I had created my book using their BookWright and was just waiting for a coupon! That was my 2015 book. Now to finish 2016 and 2017 and a cruise book!

Do you print the pages with a white border, or not?
I'm debating and I am currently working on two albums, a PL album with borders and a Disney album without borders. But I'm not sure with which one I'm doing the right thing...

I printed my last two big books with white borders. I actually really like the look of them. They seem more polished somehow.

I'm only used blurb for trade books so far, but I love them! I've been super impressed with the quality of their economy prints!

@michelepixels Last year for Black Friday, Blurb had 50% off on all of their books, including magazines and trade books. I used them for a 100 page hardcover along with 4 different magazines. This year, while they continued with their 50% off on books, it is only 30% off on magazines & trade books, but even at 30% off, that is a tremendous deal.

Courtney, tell me more about the trade books. Are you writing a novel? :-) I always thought it was a great idea, but haven't come up with anything to put in print. Now if I were a poet...

Lol! Nooo....
I used them to print out a scripture book with wide margins for doodling. And to print out of bunch of online class PDFs.
The black and white economy is all I've received so far. The color economy is on its way.
I used the soft cover, and it kinda reminds me of a piano book? Soft cover bound, and easy to flip through. I don't know if that makes sense.

@bestcee Thanks for the additional info. :angel That is one format I haven't tried yet. As I type this, I'm actually downloading a magazine (premium paper) version of the MOC 5. Since I scrap in 8.5 x 11, it is perfect for me. Last year I did the MOC 4 via Shutterfly hardcopy, 12x12 with lots of black margins, and while it is nice, the magazine format, with the 30% off is going to be around $5.00 For their sale, I already put together a 132 page magazine for DH with layouts featuring him and us. He's not into digital, so I figured he can look at this without me looking over his shoulder. Most layouts he's never seen. If I have more time, their sale ends 11/29, I may do a few more magazines of my layouts for prior years. I've printed those layouts & have them in page protectors in a binder, but the magazines are just so gosh-darn cute. :-)

And to expand on the coupon mentioned by @cfile

30% coupon for magazines thru 11/29/17: EPICTHIRTY
30% coupon for trade books thru 11/29/17: SUPERTHIRTY

No white border.

@berniek Not sure if you are doing Blurb or not, but if you are, you can set 100% of your background pages to a color other than white. If I'm doing borders, I'll often go with a black background.

Margins are a personal preference. I've done a few with, but mostly with no margins.
