Day 22 - Filled Up

In the Grand Canyon Leonie came with the idea to "collect license plates". So from then on, I started the license plate game. The goal was simple: make a photo of a number plate from every US state. In the beginning it was very simple, because they were all new and finding new states was very easy. At some point it started getting harder. A few times we saw a license plate "drive by" that we needed, but that's not gonna help. Regularly me and sometimes with mom or Leonie, walked an extra round over the parking lot. In the end we found most of them, only four were missed. And that in only 3 weeks! The Nevada license plate is from our rental!

Journaling:
As walls of the teacher break room of this college, we hear so much. I wouldn’t think this was normal, but most days I marvel at the things I hear. They gossip about students and about colleages. They joke about the most innocent sub- jects and the not-so-innocent things. They tell personal stories and cry sometimes. Sometimes they sit alone and read the newspaper, but usually all the seats are filled and they eat and drink and talk. It’s always funny to see students coming in. Their knowing or frustrated glances when the young ones look around the corner deciding to walk up to the teacher they need to talk to. I’m happy to be a wall in this room. I feel the people in here are kind of like my children.

On januari 26, it was open house of the school I teach at. From 2 pm it was all running and stressing. Especially in the beginning there was a lot of chaos, but at some moment it all fell into place. At 10 pm I was home. Tired but happy.

In Serenga, on januari 22nd 2017, a baby zebra was born. Here he is, 5 days old, with his mother in the barn. Mom and dad went to WildLands this week so had the pleasure to see him and the three young lion cubs! How cute!

tue: Traffic Jam! Immediately after making this photo, police drove by and we started moving again too.
wed: Pasta with tuna, rucola, bell pepers, Philadelphia and pine tree nuts.
thu: Car trouble and open house later in the day! A busy day.
fri: Finally finished the christmas jigsaw puzzle! About time!
sat + sun: scrapping, scrapping and a little more scrapping! I need to catch up on MOC!

When I drove off in the morning on thursday, a signal lighted up and my dashboard said STOP. So I drove a parking spot, look up the signal in the book and called my parents. It was only 7:45 am and everything was still closed. At 8 am the garage at the other side of the road opened up. I was apparently out of cooling liquids and around 8:10 I was all done. But dad was on his way to me so I waited a bit longer. At 8:20 I was back on my way. But then we were even standing still on the highway! I was almost an hour later at school then normal.
