Are your beds made? None of mine are made today, so no judgement here. I used to be so good and make my bed and then go around to each room and help the kids make their beds. But over the past few years I've gotten outta the habit. I guess I've just looked the other way and chosen it wasn't worth the fight, but I really do like the look of a nicely made bed.

Recently someone told me about beddys. Beddys are one piece for the entire bedding and it fits like a fitted sheet. Everything is zippered together so it all stays in place so making your bed is easier.

Here's a video on what beddys are.

"

DD has a daybed and it's extremely hard to make so I'm thinking about getting her a beddy set, but not sure if I want to spend that much on bedding. I might watch the site and see if they have a good sale.

How about you... Do you make your bed and/or your kids' beds every day? Or do you just pull up the covers and call it good like I've been doing?

I didn't make it through the whole video, but we use a duvet cover (all from IKEA) and a fitted sheet on each bed, so there really isn't much to do to make it, except to smooth it all out. In our house, the kids would have an easier time making their beds if there weren't so many stuffed animals on them! (The 14 year old finally got rid of his about a year ago. I figure they will all eventually outgrow keeping so many of them in the beds.)

I have to be honest: sometimes I just don't have the energy to make them all up.
We've made arrangements with the kids that when they come out of bed they pull it straight, but they 'forget' to do so.
I change the sheets once in 1-2 weeks (depends on the weather outside, if it's hot and they are sweaty I'll change it more often)

The one you shared is really beautiful, especially with the matching pillows.

I don't make my bed so I certainly can't require my kids to make theirs. :) I like throwing the covers off myself in the morning and just getting my day started. And at night I reverse the process and just hop in bed and pull the covers around myself. Easy peasy.

I think I'm confused about the Beddys: Making your bed is easier but changing the sheets isn't, right? Cuz you still have to put that zippered bottom sheet in place. Changing sheets is what I hate doing, so IDK if Beddys is for me but I bet this would help lots of parents via helping their kids. (Personally, I can't imagine being zippered into my bed lol. That sounds oddly claustrophobic to me--but I'm such a light sleeper that I think being zippered would feel confining and that'd wake me up. Cuz basically anything wakes me up. A fly blinking in the next room wakes me up.)

Nope. I don't make my bed. I do pull the covers up to cover the pillows though. The only time it gets made is when I change the sheets. And, that is something I don't do as often as I should since when I do it, I usually end up with lower back pain because of the pushing/pulling/leaning over to get everything where it needs to be.

And, no way I would want to be zippered into my bed. When that hot flash hits in the middle of the night, the covers have to come off :giggle

I watched the whole video and still don't get it. Is the idea to zip your bed in the morning instead of making it? Like a sleeping bag?

I'm a daily bed maker. I just like the way it looks when I walk through the house, to see the beds made. It really only takes a few minutes to do it.

I don't even sleep in the bed as I'm still in the recliner most nights, but hubby still sleeps in it. He's working super hard and long hours, so I don't mind taking a minute to make up the bed.

As far as this zippered format, I think it would be great for kids, but wouldn't work for me. I usually only sleep under a sheet, so I would sleep on top of that or zip it all the way back and use a separate sheet. I think it's an awesome way to start littles out making up their beds though!

I think that’s the idea but not sure. I think it would be great for kids but my hubby would never go for it for our bed. He sleeps with his feet out and gets too hot at night to be zipped in.

I think it would be good for helping kids make their beds. I’d be inclined to throw the whole thing as one in the wash instead of unzipping to change the sheets. At least that’s what I think the idea is.

Oh, that makes sense--wash the whole thing as one unit. And ITA: this seems like a great way to help kids make their bed. It's a lot easier to zip it up than it is to straighten out the sheet and then then straighten the comforter/blanket and then tuck the sheets under the mattress. And then smooth the blanket. And then arrange the comforter or duvet.

I've never been a bed-maker. I value efficiency over looks. I don't want to fuss with something I'm just going to be messing up every night. And then I read about how it's actually better to air out beds rather than trapping the dust mites and stuff inside, so now most mornings I unmake my bed even further than it was when I got up, pulling the bedding down and draping it across the footboard.

Same.

My husband makes our bed on the weekends when he is home. :whoopdedoo He thinks he's so much better than me. :giggle

I always have made my bed and still do. I can't imagine that changing in my lifetime. My dil goes one step beyond me and she and her children iron their sheets. I'll iron pillow cases once in a while but not the sheets. They are smooth enough since they are hung out to dry.

I have a duvet and a fitted sheet so it's just a fluff. Less than a minute. Sometimes I will leave the duvet off or folded down just to air the bed which reminds me of my first trip to Europe (not England!). In England back in the 60s they had the bottom sheet (not fitted) the top sheet, the blanket and then these satin quilted comforters that only covered the top of the bed and of course slipped off with any movement. But on the continent, they had these down comforters that were hung out the window every morning and put back some time later in the day. I never did notice when that time was.

I grew up with my Nana's home made down comforters though she called them 'feather ticks' because the feathers came from her geese and the main cover was made from blue and white ticking. Nana had also made most of the pillows we used and every few years they got a new ticking cover.

I love having the beds made, but since I leave for work well before DH, he is always still in there.
I follow a few instagrammers who use Beddy's and it's an interesting concept, but the beds would probably still be a rumpled mess at my house lol

My bed gets made every day. It's in the front of the house & I walk by it all the time. It would drive me crazy if it wasn't made.

All of the kids' beds are upstairs & I usually don't go up there until bedtime...so I don't really care! LOL! But my husband's office is upstairs and he can't stand to see an unmade bed either. So he will call them up to make their beds if they don't. About half of my kids are good about making their beds every day.
